I was told "No." He just has to be considered part of the bridal party, no day pass required and he can come to the room 3 hours prior. We have to give the front desk his name beforehand.

Yep, Autumn, standing in for Carole told me that as long as we count the makeup person as a member of our bridal party, (and why wouldnt you?) they can come in 3 hours earlyto help us get ready for the wedding. My question was posed as "Why would I need to pay a vendor fee for something that I would not be buying from The Royal in the first place. (We have the luxury package and makeup/hair is included.)

I need to get my final stuff in and I am so frazzled!

Anyone have the Lux package which includes photo and video, are you going to still use this so it isn't wasted, even if you hired outside vendors?
Yep, we are heading to the Royal Saturday and again in just two months. We got lucky because FI has a trip to Puerto Morelos for work and it's in the area so we extended the trip to stay at the Royal for a couple of days.

We have the lux package and are flying a photographer in. I think we are going to go ahead with the photos included so they aren't wasted but I may change my mind and just skip it instead. I guess you can't have too many pics, right?

I have the luxury package too but was told he or she is still considered an outside vendor/guest and I still have to pay the fee. I just emailed my onsite WC to have her clarify this so hopefully she'll get back with me soon. I'd love to bypass this if I can!

Have any of you other ladies that have weddings coming up been able to get a hold of your WC at the resort?

bridetobe
I also have been working with the onsite WC since early Jan due to problems as well. I can tell it is starting to get busy down there because it takes Michel four to five days to respond to my emails, usually after a followup email. This is really unlike her too! I would call the spa yourself because the spa was completely booked when I tried to add one more hair appt onto may 14 (Michel tried to get me one last week). But still, don't stress. They will do everything they can for you and Im sure you can do a lot when you get there!

Randi and I are getting married on the same day, but her ceremony is before mine. Our receptions start at the same time but are in different places (inside and mine is on the beach). My WC said that they keep all weddings as separate as possible...I guess it's the downfall to getting married in paradise (and one that I can deal with)!!!

I think I'm WAY late but it's very exciting!! And there are so many ladies coming up who are heading that way too - I totally cannot wait to see everyone's pictures!!!!

I know I can't wait to hear all of you April and May brides' reviews!

My travel agent surprised me today! Yesterday we booked our room at Real for the week, and I paid for the 10 people who paid for flights already to change the flight, since we moved the wedding up. Long story short today my travel agent told me she upgraded us to Royal for the week- no extra charge! I'm so happy! The wedding will still be at Real though.

So I was looking thought the Royal website tonight for stuff and I saw this in the FAQ section:

What about the rest of my payments for my wedding ceremony, reception, and any other services related to the wedding? When are these payment is due?

Second deposit of $500 non-refundable is due within 60 days prior to the wedding date. Final payment 30 days prior to the wedding date. In case we don´t receive this, the wedding will be cancelled automatically.

So my question is, brides that have been booked for awhile, did you know about the 2nd deposit and did you pay it?! I am freaking out a little here!

no, i definitely have not heard of this! i'm three weeks out and still haven't been able to pay my final payment, despite several e-mails to my WC. i have mentioned to her that i'm nervous about being behind the pay date because i don't want the work i've done to be in vain if anything gets canceled. i would be beyond pissed!! it seems to me, though, that they have a lot of guidelines in place as far as timelines, and that they do NOT adhere to them. the WCs are just all around behind with deadlines!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
