Dianna,

Can you send me the luxury package checklist? Can you forward it to my email - srn_luna@hotmail.com

Also, Does anyone know the price difference between hiring DJ Doremixx privately or through the resort? Ivan has confirmed that I can hire him privately, but I am wondering whether it would be worth it if I have to pay the $350 vendor fee, or whether I should just book directly with the resort.

Normally you get the huppa with the white fabric and chairs with white chair covers. If you prefer the arch with the white metal chairs I can request that.

not sure if it helps a ton, but at least we know there might be some options of sort...
WTF is a chuppa and/or huppa, lol??!?!?!?

OK I'm having TTD issues!

I really don't mind trashing my own wedding dress that isn't the issue, but I bought a more traditional dress thinking I was going to have an at home wedding and then switched to DW. So anyone else that is doing this, do you think a more "fru fru" dress will work in the water/sand, etc, or do you think I'd be better off getting a simple J Crew dress? In fact I'll post the pic of it I know fiance doesn't get on this site LOL... the dress in the pic is champagne mine of course is white but HELP please I'm so confused I need girl advise! :/

I think it will be okay.. It will be A LOT heavier once it's wet. I'm guessing it's already pretty heavy. If that's your dream dress then I say stick with it. You could always get a J. Crew simple dress as a reception dress.

I asked my WC is there a vendor fee if we book him and she told me he's the house DJ (so no). Also, Ivan told me himself there is no booking fee if you book through him. You get more bang for your buck if you book directly through him. That's what we are doing!

Julie said I have to pay the vendor fee for DJ Ivan since we booked directly through him so I am gonna fight that! I will email Ivan and ask him about it as well.

That dress looks really heavy so I think you should get a simple dress for the TTD!

you'll still wear this gorgeous dress for the wedding, right? it's beautiful and you should totally wear it!

for the TTD, i would just worry about the weight of it pulling it down, but otherwise, i'd say go for it! but it's whatever you'd be comfortable with.

Thanks everyone for the TTD suggestions.

And yes I still plan to wear the dress for the ceremony for sure. It's a really light taffeta material so it actually breathes really well and surprising the dress isn't that heavy. Like y'all said and what I am worried about, since it has a train, even if I bustle it for the TTD session, I just see it weighing me down. Ugh.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
