As for the tables we are doing places we've traveled instead of table numbers. We figured it would make it more personal.

For the photog we are using Victor Herrrera. He has been really quick with his responses and is really reasonably priced. If you go for one of his assistants it's even cheaper! Most importantly we liked the type of photos he takes. Since we are on a tight budget (trying to buy a place too) he told us we can add an adddtional hours up to 5 days in advance which is great so we can see what our money situation is once we are about to fly over.

Ok I am having major anxiety here, and need someones help! 2011 prices were just listed and they are ALOT higher than my travel agent estimated. We were hoping for Real around 300 a night for our guests that don't have a huge budget just for our wedding. They are listed at $574/night! I can't ask my guests to pay that. We have 11 people including ourselves with flights booked. My first thought was if I can't find anywhere in the price range I'll need to take a loan and pay all of these people back.

Now I'm looking at the first week in Dec which is still in the price range, I don't think it's major to us to move the wedding up a month...

My question is now all of these people with flights booked, would it be possible to just move the dates ahead...or would they be out the money and have to pay again?

I thought DW was supposed to be easier than a regular wedding!!!!!

wooaaahhhh that price is insane.First I would check the on line sites and see what their rates say. Our TA matched any prices as long as our guests paid in full. Also I would maybe look into a group booking and see if that helps.

Unfortunately if the flight is booked there will be a penalty to change it to another date.

Taking a loan outhuh.gif? Don't do that sad.gif I know how you must fell but not to worry there are options. I will call your TA asap and weight out the options.

Oh sweetie, I know :-(. My wedding was supposed to be the saturday before yours, but after checking the prices, we decided to change it to November and the price was greatly reduced.

I agree with Jesmcan, see what your TA can do. Did your people just put down deposits or how did that work?

They paid flights full, but haven't paid anything to hold rooms yet. I'm thinking of changing to last week of November into first week of december..looks like about 250 a night! HUGE difference what the heck!

I will pay the fee for anyone that has already booked that has to change the date...but the TA hopefully can get this taken care of.

But of course I just emailed my TA and she is out due to illness so who knows when she'll be back!

FutureMrsYak I just checked prices for you, unfortunetly for some reason the online sites like Expedia say no rooms are available. usually that means because its high season only the hotel will sell rooms.

I however did go on the Gran Porto site and put in for Jan 7 to the 14th just to see and the rate was $488 for the standard jr suite and unfortunetly the royal at $635 a night. I would def ask about the group rate and see what that can do. A group rate is always 10 rooms or more.

I like Lisa also changed my date to November from Jan because the prices are so high than because it's high season. But not to worry I am sure your TA can help you resolve this. And if you do need to change the date I would fight the penalty for changing flights. With 11 people that a lot of business for that flight.

Let us know how it goes I dont know how to do a hug on here but senidng one your way

This is exactly the thing I told her. I really feel like it's an excuse. I said to her-people are always sneaking things on planes and after 9/11, you haven't stopped flying. I'm just really pissed.

Love the tequila idea! I feel the same way about the violence. She lives in Philadelphia. I told her that it's safer than where she lives. I'm just soooo done!

Thank you very much! TA is out of the office tomorrow, but I'm calling first thing in the AM and talk to whoever answers and see what they suggest. Im going away with my FI's family this weekend for a funeral and I'm afraid one of them is going to ask, I want to have a solution to tell them without telling them the prices!

I feel better after reading all of your responses, and talking to my mom of course. It will work out, I have a feeling will be moving the wedding up! All that means is less time to wait! <3

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
