ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Thanks for all the replies! Jescman, how are you in direct contact with Zulma of the resort? I thought that you had to deal with the Michigan office until one month prior to your wedding?

I have to also pay the $350 for outside vendor fee. The cost is ridic! It's limiting me on hiring an additional florist, etc! Just with lounge set up and photographer, it will be an additional $700 down the drain!

When did everyone hire their DJ, photographer, etc? Should I book the DJ now? Do I have to let the WC know this now?

Re Centerpieces. What did you all do? Are you using the Royal's choices? I cannot be bothered packing stuff and bringing it down with me. I am ALWAYS either right on the mark or overweight with luggage so I know I will not have the room!

I was thinking of not really communciating with the Michigan WC since they seem to cause more stress than anything. Do you think it's wise to leave everything until I get to the resort and meet with the resort WC?

aagghhhhh!!!!!

You are not suppose to work with the Meixco WC's till a month before. I just worked with Zulma after our site visit and the ceremony music was one of the things I sent her and asked about.

Honestly in my opinion I would not communicate with the Michigan office and wait till the month before for the WC. I think everyone here has all the resources you need without having to contact them. You may still them in order to make some decisions but for the most part not really. So yes if it was me I would not contact them in order to stay sane lol.

Kimberly said from 5 to 10 bags.

rose petals would be be pretty. so much better than the red runner! i'm guessing a bag is packed pretty well with petals. i would guess just one or two, depending on how scatterd you'll want them (or how windy it is if they start to blow away!)

that makes me wonder... how do we know how long the aisle is? it'll make a difference for editing the processional songs, etc!

I know what you mean! I hope for a true bill 30 days out so that's almost a week away. We'll see about that!

I think I'm signed up for 4. I went based on what the WC said about the sweet heart table. She said one bag spreads evenly on the sweet heart table so depending on your guest count/aisle length that's why I did 4. I want it to actually look like there's flowers on the ground. I wish I could actually see the size of this bag... it would it so much easier to decide.

Thanks ladies for all the responses on the rose petals. I agree it depends on how many guests. I would love to see pics to. I was searching but could not find one wedding at The Royal that shows the aisle at the Gazebo with rose petals.

One thing I did notice if you are having 40 guests or more from all the pictures I have seen it looks like they do 6 chairs per row. I decided to do assigned seating for the ceremony because I fell in love with the tags that Lisa showed :).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
