I also dont want to pay extra ...guess i have time to figure it out.

Jess, regarding the seating for reception, I will most likely either have one of my brothers act as an usher, or put one of these on the front chairs:

I have also considered maybe having mom and dad seats IN the gazebo for me and FI on each side so that they will be comfortable and have special status. Also because 3 of our 4 parents have had open heart surgeries and may not withstand the sun very well....still pondering this.
Haha, i dont think we are sleeping separately. I can't sleep without him! Regarding day passes, I am just going to get ready Gran Porto because the majority of wedding party and our parents are staying there so I dont want to pay for them to come over to the Royal or make them to pay $$.

I think that seating will be good considering their health.

since i have no info, i'm wondering if those of you can tell me about the rooms at the royal. last week angie said there was space at the royal (but not at the beach, of course) for a private reception. did any of you ladies see these rooms? do they at least have ocean views or patio doors that open up to the ocean?

i am soooo frustrated at the lack of answers. i just want to get this thing planned! we're only having a dozen guests - how difficult can it be to find space for such a small group on the ginormous beach? thanks to all for your help.
I know how you feel. I hadn't heard anything from the WC's and finally emailed them about my final payment which is supposed to be due TODAY!! and I finally heard from her on Friday. She still didn't give me a bill in the email though. . . so now still waiting. I hope they don't cancel my wedding!! Totally not my fault

i'm frustrated and worried because i don't even have enough information to fill THAT in yet! i'm 6 weeks out and don't know where my reception is going to be held. aaaaaah! i can't WAIT to be transferred to a mexico coordinator - hope all the wonderful reviews are true. i can't take much more of this.

soo.. when i was there in August for my site visit, michelle told me my bridesmaids and groomsmen can come to the room when i get ready and she said i just need to give her the names and she will take care of it. Of course, it seems we are getting different answers but i will be pissed if that is not correct. All of them are staying at either The Gran or The Real Resort so they better not have to pay anything to come in and help me get ready and my groom!!

Jesmcan - I'm having Fernando come to do my hair and makeup and i just had to pay the Vendor fee because the day pass only gets them access to the Resort and not into your room. Thats why u have to pay the vendor fee so they can go in your room.. sucks!

Things are MUCH better once you are switched to the Mexico coordinators. They answer your emails that day and sometimes 3-4 times a day depending on how much you send them. It's amazing! woot.gif

Do you have any of the contact info for Mexico incase they try to BS with you since technically your payment is due even though it's no way your fault that it's not turned in? I don't know the PDC manager's email (It's Zulma right ladies?) since I'm at Royal Cancun, but I just CC'd the manager in Cancun my emails to the Michigan girls just so they knew how dang frustrating they are! Paty and Lorena in Cancun have helped me out tremendously now. I hope they get on the ball for you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
