Thanks Lisa! I like that one the best, too, since it has both our colors :) I've got to email the guy to see how close he can get to them. We're using this ebay seller

I know! Grrr. The price is outrageous! We were just going to go without a dance floor (our reception is in the garden) bc I saw a pic of it somewhere (maybe Jesmcan's site visit?), and it was so small! We just starting thinking about how much better it would look (esp in pics) w/the light up and how many more people would get up and dance if we had it. Have you send it in action? Check out Tracey's slideshow. The dance floor totally makes it!

Yes there is a pic of it in my site visit. I honestly have to say the two pieces of ply wood are sort of an eye sore when you see it. It is also really small and there is a big gap between the two pieces so its sort of hard to dance on. For those unable to do the light up dance floor I would go with just the sand. They can rake an area for you. As candicemarie says though the light up dance floor really makes people want to get up and dance.

It makes me sad that I can't justify the cost of the light up floor when we only have 13 people and the budget is already tight. It was something I have wanted since the start. I really wish there was some way to do it... but it just doesn't make sense.

I appreciate the opinion on the plywood Jesmcan, I think I will just ask for sand and no floor..

Yes, I agree. I will definitely do the sand, no dance floor. I can't justify the cost of the light up dance floor either.

On another note.. Has anyone tasted the cakes? When they say Chocolate with almond.. is this the filling or is the cake chocolate with almond filling? Also does anyone have any advice on the cakes? I'm a chocolate freak and would be perfectly happy getting one of those delicious looking grooms cakes, but the FI doesn't think they "look pretty". Who would have thought he would even mind? I also love tre leches cakes, but don't want it to melt into a puddle since it will be June.

The tres leches cake is amazing!!! we tried it at our food tasting. Its perfect because it is really light ad fluffy and would pair really well with a dessert like the chocolate shell. I can see however the concern with the melting however why would they offer it if its going to melt? I would ask how they do this. Sorry that was the only cake we tried.

I feel so un-girly because I am not looking forward to trying on dresses lol. I kinda dread it. Maybe it's because I am not a huge shopper? I only like going alone, but everything has to be readily available and on display or I lose interest haha.

Hmm, maybe this will be different, but I still cannot muster the enthusiasm.

Just so you know, I felt the same way!!! I don't like shopping (don't get me wrong, I love new clothes but just not the process of getting them) and wasn't looking forward to trying on a zillion dresses all day long....Thankfully, I had a friend with me who was such a great help - and I found my dress at the 2nd store! It really was not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be - bring someone who can help make the day fun! (and know that you aren't the only one!). I am now excited b/c I found a dress!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
