FOR PRIVATE AND SEMI-PRIVATE RECEPTION

SALADS
Royal seafood salad perfumed with plum & peach oil (SP-1)
Was very fishy and the one we had was infused with jasmin, the presentation is amazing but it did not taste that great
Avocado stuffed with crab pulp au fresh dill vinaigrette (SP-2)
This one the dill
very over powering but again beautiful presentation

Spinach soufflé with blueberry sauce au white wine flavor (SP-3)
I think this is the best choice, fish can be hard not everyone likes it

MAIN COURSES
Shrimps au sherry served with jambalaya rice (SP-1)
Red snapper Fantasy stuffed with seafood & black caviar cream (SP-2)
Beef fillet tournedo with fresh wild mushrooms sauce (SP-3)
The beef was cooked perfectly, presentation was amazing def! go with this one, you will love it, again the other ones are just tough because the majority may not like it

DESSERTS
Baked pear stuffed with almond mousse (SP-1)
Paris chocolate shell stuffed with fruit au white Cinzano flavor (SP-2)
The chocolate shell is amazing, they make it all right than and there. I can't remember where my presentation is but I have a link to pictures and this is one of them. It was an amazing dessert and would go perfectly with cake.
Cannoli trio stuffed with praline & raspberry coulis (SP-3)

here is the link for pics from my site visit - http://www.shutterfly.com/lightbox/v...bbd47cbb382743

hope this helps :)

Sheesh! That is ridic!! I wonder if the resort would work with you more than the Michigan peeps. At least on the cake, anyway. Maybe ask Zulma when she gets w/you 30days out if they can do something close to what you want?

FMIL just threw us a shower over the weekend and did more of a party vibe/get together instead of a regular shower w/games. She put a fishbowl type jar on the table w/sand, shells & beachy items inside for money gifts and slips of paper & ribbons for people to leave notes tied around the money. Maybe that could be a compromise?
Or you could do a lingere shower? Your guests can get some pretty affordable, cute items for that.

I just looked on tripadvisor, and I guess there is 2 locations. I'm going to send an email to the address (edmundocouture@hotmail.com) listed on the page for the location on 5th Avenue (closest to Royal/GPR) and see if they book for the other location, too.

I didn't ask about makeup/hair, but I did ask about manis/pedis. If they reply back, I'll ask them. I did ask about hours of operation and how many appts can be made for the same time, massages & mani/pedi (if they do those). I'll post any answers I get. I just hope its the right email! There are phone numbers on there, too, but I'll have to try those later today after work.

Hey Ladies,

I haven't been on this site forever, just tried to read through all the posts that I've missed but there are so many! Only 4 weeks & 4 days until we leave, I can't believe we've been engaged for over a year and a half and now it's almost here! Anyhow, just wondering what are you all planning on tipping your WC, musicians, bartender & waiters for your wedding? On a side note, got our final bill back with wrong price (overcharged) and wedding date, the price has been fixed but date is still wrong on our bill, trying to be patient and not freak out here...

Since Doremixx is the DJ they use at the Royal, I booked through the hotel. It is technically the same price...BUT if you don't book them through the hotel, they charge a $350 outside vendor fee! Yikes

We booked him directly before the resort changed their policy of booking DJs so if you want to book him, you have to go through the wedding coordinator.

looks like we're upgrading from a semi-private reception (at one of the resort restaurants) to a private reception on the beach. what do you ladies know about the setup, decorations or services provided? again, we're at the gran porto - we were initally told that the only dinner seatings (for the semi-private) were at 6pm and 9pm. our ceremony is at 6, so we had to do the 9pm. i'm really hoping to be able to get an earlier start on dinner now! thoughts?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
