I understand the not wanting to step on toes thing,(I felt the same way) but they should understand that they had the choice to stay at your hotel and they had three options on price between the real, gran, and royal. My WC said they do not have to pay for a day pass to come to the wedding, but the price within the package does increase. We are doing A la Carte and she quoted me the 60$ per person for outside guests. Tell the guests that it's their fee to come onto the resort grounds. OR let the inlaws pay for it. After all, they are the ones getting crazy with invites.

In case people are still wondering about the web cam thing....i thought my friends back home would be able to watch the wedding too live but they couldn't. I had my reception at the Gran and the web cam is too high up so its hard to make out people on the beach plus once it got dark - forget it. Not sure if its the same at the Royal but i think so.

Also, I cut off my bracelet for the wedding and so did my bridesmaids we all were able to get new ones - it was not an issue. But they are SUPER strict about making sure you have your bracelet on at all times. But it kinda sucks when you go off property like down 5th Ave. All the shop vendors know what bracelet goes with what resort so they try to get you in their shop but saying things like "Hey Gran Porto - come in here" its kinda annoying. oh well! :-)

god forbid we pay $100 for 10 or more people. goodnight.gif

Oh no! That is awful! The majority of my guests were under the assumption that it is all inclusive so me and FI don't pay for anything....boy are they wrong! Maybe you can drop the hint about it without coming out rude. At the very least they should give you money to cover themselves as a "wedding gift". So if you get the word to them then maybe they can slip you some money in a card. Couldn't hurt!

Hey girls... new here. I'm considering booking this resort for a wedding next February. I have some questions I hope yall can help me out with!

1. How much is their outside vendor fee? DO you have to pay this day pass thing for them too?

2. Has anyone booked the mariachi band/trio?

3. What's included in the private beach reception as far as the set up goes? Lighting? Etc...?

4. Is alcohol included with the dinner? Or is that something extra that has to be paid for?

5. Does anyone know if their salons are any good? I'd rather just do my hair and everything their at the hotel!

I think that's all. I sent an email that's on the Real Resorts wedding section on Sunday and I have not recieved a response back yet. Is this normal? I know things are laid back in Mexico but dang LOL! :)

Anyways I appreciate yalls help!

Hello! I'm in Dallas :-)

1. How much is their outside vendor fee? DO you have to pay this day pass thing for them too? It is currently 350.00 per vendor
2. Has anyone booked the mariachi band/trio? It is included in my package (luxury), but i have only heard good things
3. What's included in the private beach reception as far as the set up goes? Lighting? Etc...? From what I understand, the provide all tables, linens, lights under table and bar, servers
4. Is alcohol included with the dinner? Or is that something extra that has to be paid for? Depends on the package, but usually full bar, 3-4 course meal if you are doing a private reception
5. Does anyone know if their salons are any good? I'd rather just do my hair and everything their at the hotel! I've heard mixed reviews, but if you would rather do that yourself, and don't want some of the other packages items, you could always go a la carte, or get a smaller package and add the a la carte items that you would like.

Thank you so much for your answers!!

Cool your from Dallas? I lived in Garland my whole life until about 3 years ago then I moved to Rockwall. But I'm in the Uptown area on the weekends all the time!!

So the luxury package looks to be the way to go for me too. Do you mind me asking what you picked for your solo musician for the ceremony?

I actually lived in Dallas my whole life but moved to Carrollton a year ago.

I actually haven't made my final selections yet (you will be given a checklist to turn in close to the wedding time), but I think I'm going with either the violinist or harpist :-).

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but you ladies are always so helpful, I figured why not.

The girls chose this dress:

David's Bridal - Strapless Jersey A-line with Pleating and Ruched Charmeuse Bust

In the Horizon color.

They tried it on and loved it...except for the MOH. She wants to shorten it because she thinks it will be too hot for Mexico. I have to somewhat agree, I was surprised they picked out long dresses.

I can't ask the other girls to shorten their dresses since they like it long and they are already spending money they don't have.

I want to know your opinion on having the bridesmaids with long dresses and the MOH with the same dress but shortened. Do you think it will look odd?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
