i just tell them that it's more directly at the border and cities that are mentioned...the riviera maya area is very safe.

Ok, just heard from Julie...unfortunately, non resort guests are NOT covered by the package. we have to pay for them. That sucks!! i'm seriously pissed. this whole time, i thought the package would cover them. it is $100 per non resort guest for us.

we are considering just going with a cheaper package and do a la carte but that means we might get $300 vendor fee instead $100 if we sign a new contract. booo.

are you sure it would be that much? I think you have Luxury package, so that would 60 for food + 20 for champagne. Are you getting extra hours tacked on? Still even 80 is a lot...crappy. My brother and his partner are staying at the Westin (grr).

yup, $20 for cocktail hour, $60 for reception then extra hour which is $20 = $100. that's for the luxury package. no bueno. She did say that 0-5 year olds are free and 6-12 year olds are half price so that's good, i guess.

I'm sorry Lady DI, I totally feel your pain. We have 15 people staying at time shares sad.gif so we are going to have to pay for them for the ceremony and cocktail hour but than its only $30 pp, $100!!! that is crazy $400 for your 4 guests. I would still act like thats not what they told you when you get there and see what happens. I mean 4 people, there has to be some way to sneak them by heheheh

haha, i wish...i hear that security guards there are hawks so that probably won't happen. i think we may get more people coming but they are not staying at the resort. my FI's aunt is bringing her sister/brother to the wedding. my godmother might bring more people. they are staying off resort. it looks like we would have to draw a line and tell them that they only can bring one person per person. we just can't afford $100 for every non resort guest. i think our guests think it's free for us and that we don't have to pay anything since the wedding is at all inclusive resort.

god forbid we pay $100 for 10 or more people. goodnight.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
