I think it is extra for a four course meal, adding soup, so be careful. I did not think soup was worth the extra money. I cant remember the exact price but it is on the royal's wedding website

I am also doing classic and upgrading as needed. It ended up being cheaper for us even have 50 guests! We are simple people and didn't need a whole lot extra

so again I'm sorry but we all seem to have gotten different answers for the canapes and food choices. I am not having my reception at the royal anymore so even with out the ultimate luxury package I was told you get 4 choice for the cocktail hour. I sent Zulma my choices and three were hot and one cold and she said no problem. I had her put it in writing so I don't its extra for the hot apps. Again who knows though.

Oh yes ladies wondering about cake options the tres leches was amazing! it was very buttery and moist and very light. I just loved it!.

I am worried about giving my dress and having them steam it. I don't know why but my worst fear is that something would happen. Has anyone considered bringing their own steam machine? Someone suggested I do this but I have never even used one. Wondered if you guys had any thoughts on this?
When did you decide to not have your reception at the Royal? Did I miss something? So sad to hear!! I am NOT giving them my dress!!! Way too scared and yes I am bringing my own steamer. I found a handheld steamer in a magazine for very cheap ($30)

A couple of the girls have mentioned that the tres leches flavor is really awesome, so I think we will prob go with that. Dont know about other flavors though.
I was hoping to have the tres leche cake as all the reviews said it was so delicious...however I was informed today it is not an option anymore due to a melting issue sad.gif

I called and asked about it a couple weeks ago and they said the tres leches cake wasn't on the list because most people that aren't from Latin America don't know what it is. But they said if it is requested it is definitely available. I hope this hasn't changed!!!!!

Hi LynnieS, I chose not to have it back in December. I just could not deal with the way the office was handling everything and I did not feel confident enough. In addition after going on our site visit we decided we wanted something more private. But we are doing our ceremony and cocktail hour at the gazebo and garden and most of our guests are staying at the Royal. We rented out Kool Beach Club right next door for our reception.

Wow thanks about the steamer, I'm doing that than lol.

Oh, jesmcan, I did know that! That place looks AMAZING! Good choice

Has anyone thought about doing disposable cameras and having the guests take pics? Wonder if I could get those down in Mexico so I don't have to travel with them?

Here's a thread about what some other brides used http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-script-21660/

We're planning on doing something like they ideas on there plus I wanted to tie in a few religious things.

But I'm not picky as long as the date is correct I will sign it and fax it back!

We also booked our rooms today, even though the prices still aren't out. And Saturday we booked our flights. I can finally say I feel like I am going to have a wedding! : )

So good to hear everyone's feed back, as we all have the same concerns!
YAY!!! I'm so glad they FINALLY sent it to you! I can't believe those parts are still incorrect, though. I mean seriously, come on!

Are you guys doing both then??
We're just doing the free cake that comes w/the package since there is dessert. I'm not a big cake person, anyway, so that's not something I'm willing to pay more for.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
