If you send me your e-mail I can forward you the checklist. I found it was cheaper for us, because there were things in the packages that we would not use and things that we would have to add. This way it is customized for us specifically. For instance, we would not use the couples massages and we did not need the room decorated or morning breakfast. (I mean really, room service is included and I can order what I want from there. With the morning breakfast they only have one option) I'm bringing my own bouquets, because I like specific flowers that they do not have in their bouquet gallery and quite frankly its cheaper for me to do it. They give you a champagne toast with the packages, but champagne is included in the open bar for the reception.

And dianep all of my family lives up north - Minn, Chicago, Penn... they always tell me my blood is too thin. Haha. I was in Chicago over Christmas when it was -10 degrees and I thought I was going to die. And yes as Lisa said we had about 12 inches of snow a few weeks ago. It was so pretty!! :)
It is 30$ I saw it on my checklist.

wow I missed a very active day today :)

so again I'm sorry but we all seem to have gotten different answers for the canapes and food choices. I am not having my reception at the royal anymore so even with out the ultimate luxury package I was told you get 4 choice for the cocktail hour. I sent Zulma my choices and three were hot and one cold and she said no problem. I had her put it in writing so I don't its extra for the hot apps. Again who knows though.

Oh yes ladies wondering about cake options the tres leches was amazing! it was very buttery and moist and very light. I just loved it!.

I am worried about giving my dress and having them steam it. I don't know why but my worst fear is that something would happen. Has anyone considered bringing their own steam machine? Someone suggested I do this but I have never even used one. Wondered if you guys had any thoughts on this?

Ya exactly and one of the reviews at the roayl, I can't remember who I'm sorry. It was a mexican holiday and they forgot to do it for her sad.gif. I just don't want that stress.

So yes any thoughts anyone or positive reviews would be awsome.

I finally recieved a response back from Suzanna because when I e-mailed her this time I CC'd Carroll on it. I finally recieved my wedding contract that I have been trying to get since January. Our wedding date is finally correct on it...my FI last name is still spelled wrong, my address is wrong and the type of wedding is listed as religous and it's not. But I'm not picky as long as the date is correct I will sign it and fax it back!

We also booked our rooms today, even though the prices still aren't out. And Saturday we booked our flights. I can finally say I feel like I am going to have a wedding! : )

So good to hear everyone's feed back, as we all have the same concerns!

I'm a cake freak but hate to spend the extra money on it if I don't even know how it tastes!! And can anyone tell what kind of icing it is? It all looks like fondant to me. :/ I was hoping for more of a butter cream.
I guess I'm a bit confused about this. There's a wedding cake (obviously) AND a dessert, that comes with the dinner?

Are you guys doing both then??

Just wondering, because I'm actually pretty disappointed in the choices for soups and desserts. (We are having a three hour private reception) I'm thinking of cutting out the soup altogether. Also, there was a page labeled garnishing, is it one garnishing or two?
I was told one garnishing, but we can pick 2 if we'd like (so, 2, to answer the question!!).

Dianep, I will be moving close to you very soon, pretty bummed to go farther north since our winter has been so bad!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
