Just FYI on vistaprint, if you sign up for their email list, you can get things for completely FREE except shipping charges which are usually under $10-15. When you send me the gran spa list, I'll forward you one of their emails. I save the best ones w/the most free stuff. You can get tote bags, t-shirts, invitations, postcards, pens, etc all free!

I'm thinking its 20 bc that's what Kimberly told me in the beginning unless they changed it (which is entirely possible, as we all know!). We were worried we wouldn't have enough and just decided we'd pay the diff in people if we didn't end up w/20, but luckily we're at 22!

Yay for you!!! I was so relieved after I booked the photog!
Can you send me the email for vistaprint as well?

Many Thanks
Yes the standard set up is included with all the packages, White table linens and white chair covers with white chair ties. If you want anything in color with any package it is extra unless you bring it yourself.

Hope that helps!

OH GOOD GOD. What if we pick something thats terrible?? Anyway, would love to hear what everyone is choosing for their menus.....Jesmcan, would you mind reposting the info on your tasting that was just mentioned? I looked back and wasn't able to find it.

Also, what color/colors is everyone using for their decor?? We are doing midnight blue, citron green and white. Trying to figure out another color to tie into the flowers.... maybe yellow?
My colors are hot pink, black and white.

I think yellow is a good choice!

The final portion is the food tasting. The food was phenomenal and as you will see from the pictures the presentation was just wonderful. We had the following,

For the cocktail hour:
Breaded chicken fillet with sesame seeds (was absolutely wonderful and delicious!)
Shrimps au coconut with mint sauce (was also amazing and I loved the sauce)
Cantaloupe pearls with prosciutto & spearmint (this was my favorite, the prosciutto was very fresh and light)

Salad:
Spring salad with goat cheese & almond oil (Not what I expected, it was basically a big block of cream cheese with a piece of goat cheese on top)
Caribbean salad with shrimp, smoked pineapple pesto & jasmine flower (The presentation is really cool but it was to fishy for me. It tastes like a seafood salad)
Prosciutto with cantaloupe and Dijon mustard vinaigrette (This was my favorite and the option we chose. We are changing another option for the cocktail hour so we donâ€t have the same thing twice)

Soups:
Oyster cream soup with fried leek (absolutely fabulous, creamy and was just wonderful)
Clam chowder with chopped vegetables au white wine (The clam chowder was also very good)
Princess cream soup with green vegetables au white wine flavor ( This soup was the one we chose because not everyone likes oysters and clams. It was our favorite of the three. Again very creamy and flavorful)

Entrees:
Beef fillet with Dijon mustard, garnished with provencal herbs (This was good but the sauce as a little off and we did not really like it)
Valentino beef fillet with pink pepper sauce & Jumbo shrimp (Everything was delicious except the sauce was way to over powering)
Beef fillet tournedo with three peppers sauce (This was the dish we chose. The beef was perfectly cooked and we asked for them to add jumbo shrimp to this one instead.)

Dessert & Cake:
Lime pie with strawberries (It was ok, I have had better)
Paris chocolate shell stuffed with fruit au white Cinzano flavor ( We licked the plate clean with this one it was so good. We chose this one as our dessert. It comes with marscarpone cream, it was amazing)
Tres Leches Cake (I canâ€t not even describe how delicious this cake is. We chose it for our cake flavor. It is moist, creamy and light. We both absolutely loved it.)

Hi Ladies! I went a few weeks ago for my site visit and tasting. Here is what we tasted and chose...I'm doing the Classic Package with the Private Dinner added on. The "classic" private dinner includes 3 courses. We also tasted soups, which are on the "luxury" private dinner menu. But I thought 4 courses would be a little much so we are sticking with the Classic.

We had the site visit with Lili, she said you can choose 2 entrees but you can't offer a choice of apps or desserts.

Salads/Apps

1. (what we chose) Avocado with Crab salad - basically pure crab meat overflowing out of a small hollowed out avocado. It needed a little salt but other than that was very good and fresh.

2. Smoked Shrimp Pineapple salad - GROSS! Presentation was awesome, the shrimp was way too smokey and there was this weird layer of pukey flavored jello on the bottom.

3. Spring Vegetable Salad - I had picked the goat cheese thing but this is what they gave me. It was basically peas, carrots and corn mixed with mayo. I wouldn't recommend at all.

Soups

ALL were awesome! We just decided that we would rather just have 3 courses to give us some more time on the dance floor. We tried the Cream of Spinach, Creamy Vegetable, and Clam Chowder. If I had to pick my one fav it would prob be the Cream of Veggie.

Entrees

1. (what we chose) Beef Tournedo with mushroom sauce - Steak was cooked perfectly and sauce complemented well. I'm not a mushroom fan and was glad there weren't an abundance of mushrooms.

2. Beef Filet with Dijon Sauce - Perfectly cooked again. My fiance prefered the mushroom sauce. I was 50/50...if you like mustard this one was great...it just gave a hint of the flavor to the meat.

3. Chicken with Seafood Stuffing & Almond Sauce - Really bad! Chicken was good, the stuffing was REALLY fishy and dry.

- We didn't taste any snapper, but we decided to go with just a Sauteed Snapper (no stuffing) for our 2nd entree choice.

Desserts

1. (what we chose) Cannoli Trio - It was delicious! Even though it's not really a "canolli". It's more like 3 small croissant-ish pastries filled with a chocolate-praline filling. The filling was super creamy but not heavy.

2. The Chocolate Shell with fruit - I liked this one alot and it has a great presentation. I just thought the flavor of the cannolis were a little better.

3. I don't even remember! haha...the other 2 were so much better.

Thanks for the review!! That helps so much.

How was Lili? She is going to be my WC in Mexico. I hope she is efficient as Zulma!

Thank you so much Natalie for the review. So helpful! I just turned in my menu choices and we are doing the Classic wedding with upgraded private reception. Our salad/app choices were different but oh well. Seems that I picked what you picked for entree and dessert, good to know they were good!

Thank you so much for the recommendations! We have the luxury package (not ultimate) so hopefully we can piece together some of this and come up with something fabulous.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
