Maybe have some family members pack some in each of their suitcases? Are any of them frequent flyers? My brother flies weekly for work, so he gets an extra suitcase free on all airlines (and boy am i gonna utilize that!)

Hmm, i was told you could offer two choices for the entrees only- were you told you could offer 2 options for each of the courses? (that would be cool if so)

Back to the selecting the dinner stuff. So, we thought we would be able to do as tasting when we arrived 5 days before the wedding but Carole said we have to put in our choices 2 weeks prior! OH GOOD GOD. What if we pick something thats terrible?? Anyway, would love to hear what everyone is choosing for their menus.....Jesmcan, would you mind reposting the info on your tasting that was just mentioned? I looked back and wasn't able to find it.

Also, what color/colors is everyone using for their decor?? We are doing midnight blue, citron green and white. Trying to figure out another color to tie into the flowers.... maybe yellow?

Sure here is my review,

The final portion is the food tasting. The food was phenomenal and as you will see from the pictures the presentation was just wonderful. We had the following,

For the cocktail hour:
Breaded chicken fillet with sesame seeds (was absolutely wonderful and delicious!)
Shrimps au coconut with mint sauce (was also amazing and I loved the sauce)
Cantaloupe pearls with prosciutto & spearmint (this was my favorite, the prosciutto was very fresh and light)

Salad:
Spring salad with goat cheese & almond oil (Not what I expected, it was basically a big block of cream cheese with a piece of goat cheese on top)
Caribbean salad with shrimp, smoked pineapple pesto & jasmine flower (The presentation is really cool but it was to fishy for me. It tastes like a seafood salad)
Prosciutto with cantaloupe and Dijon mustard vinaigrette (This was my favorite and the option we chose. We are changing another option for the cocktail hour so we donâ€t have the same thing twice)

Soups:
Oyster cream soup with fried leek (absolutely fabulous, creamy and was just wonderful)
Clam chowder with chopped vegetables au white wine (The clam chowder was also very good)
Princess cream soup with green vegetables au white wine flavor ( This soup was the one we chose because not everyone likes oysters and clams. It was our favorite of the three. Again very creamy and flavorful)

Entrees:
Beef fillet with Dijon mustard, garnished with provencal herbs (This was good but the sauce as a little off and we did not really like it)
Valentino beef fillet with pink pepper sauce & Jumbo shrimp (Everything was delicious except the sauce was way to over powering)
Beef fillet tournedo with three peppers sauce (This was the dish we chose. The beef was perfectly cooked and we asked for them to add jumbo shrimp to this one instead.)

Dessert & Cake:
Lime pie with strawberries (It was ok, I have had better)
Paris chocolate shell stuffed with fruit au white Cinzano flavor ( We licked the plate clean with this one it was so good. We chose this one as our dessert. It comes with marscarpone cream, it was amazing)
Tres Leches Cake (I canâ€t not even describe how delicious this cake is. We chose it for our cake flavor. It is moist, creamy and light. We both absolutely loved it.)

PS. My girls also chose jcrew dresses - well I did but they loved them lol Like you said they come in different style to meet everyones needs and the price is right. I hope they come back this summer to! They better if not we need a plan B lol

I was told this as well, you only get to choose between two on your entree only, not the dessert or salad/soup

Lisa- I definitely could put them in relative bags. . . good idea!

So I am doing the classic wedding package so my menu is a little different. I chose

Red snapper (seafood stuffed) and beef fillet with mushroom sauce as my two entrees. My salad will be spinach souffle (hmm not sure about this one but oh well) and dessert (thanks to jesmcan) will be chocolate shell with fruit. . mmmmm!

For my welcome dinner we are doing salmon with lemon sauce, cream of corn soup with cilantro (highly recommended by another poster-sorry I forgot who!) and dessert will be vanilla cake with kahlua. Guests wont get a choice here . . too much work and everyone loves salmon in my group

That would be great! candice_17@msn.com thank you!!

Just FYI on vistaprint, if you sign up for their email list, you can get things for completely FREE except shipping charges which are usually under $10-15. When you send me the gran spa list, I'll forward you one of their emails. I save the best ones w/the most free stuff. You can get tote bags, t-shirts, invitations, postcards, pens, etc all free!

OUr wedding maybe smaller than anticipated but I still wanted a private reception, I was thinking they wouldn't let me, which is silly, wouldn't they want more money?
I'm thinking its 20 bc that's what Kimberly told me in the beginning unless they changed it (which is entirely possible, as we all know!). We were worried we wouldn't have enough and just decided we'd pay the diff in people if we didn't end up w/20, but luckily we're at 22!

Hi Ladies -

I read another bride on different thread thread saying that she was going to vacuum seal some of her items, to fit everything in suitcases. I thought this was just a fabulous idea, one I probably never would have thought of! Of course this won't work for those maracas (!) but sashes/tulle, etc, could work.

Just wanted to share, for you ladies in May who are planning!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
