We are actually just going with a very basic package and adding everything a la carte. It actually was cheaper for us and we didn't feel we needed all the extras in the larger packages (ie romantic dinner). My girls and I are getting manis/pedis at Veronicas on 5th avenue and I didnt need that either. Hope this helps
Is it a big price difference to have it done at Veronica's? Have you been there before or know their quality of work?

astreit- very cute!

LadyDi- yeah you can. . . I just liked the idea of doing my own thing. However, it wasn't a huge difference in price (maybe a couple hundred) so I suggest pricing it out, especially if you have a large group.

duprk452- Veronicas is a big price diff. From what I have found on here everyone is very happy with the work there. $15 for mani and pedi (i think) and $30 for a massage there. Big diff from the spa! I can't seem to get a hold of them to book though, hmmm...

Hi yes we are having fire dancers are our welcome dinner and $600 was actually not bad. The norm outside of the resort for 7 fire dancers for a 30 min show was $1000!!!!!

However every Friday night at the Blue Parrot there is a fire show. They are on late though like 11pm. You do have to pay the cover charge to get in so it might not be any cheaper depending on if you want to have your guests pay for the cover and you cover the cost.

I have been working with Carole and has responded well to me and my fiance. But the rates she has given me the internet prices beat which is bothering me a lot anyone else having this problem?
I am with you on the TA rates vs the internet rates. We still have not fully decided whether or not to go through a TA. My parents say that they rather book themselves, if they can save 1-200 dollars on each person, that is a big chunk of change. I certainly know there are advantages to using a TA though, including if there are any problems. I am now starting to get VERY concerned about the potential of the resort overbooking - especially with so many weddings during our week. It seems that there's no real guarantee though, even TA's can't guarantee that you won't be bumped. I'm hoping that since it's low season there won't be as much of a chance of the resort selling out, but I really have no idea. And you ladies who are inviting so many people make me even more nervous! haha. Anyway, I don't know what we are going to do. I have found VERY reasonable rates on the internet....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
