I didn't receive it within 20 minutes, so I called back and she sent it "again" while we were on the phone. I don't know if she gets distracted or what the deal is. But she even told me that if we just stay on the phone while she sends everything I am asking for, then she can avoid getting interrupted.

Also, the checklists differ by package. I changed the package that I had signed up for, so now I got a new checklist. If you tell us your package, maybe we can help you out.
Thank you! I was told she would email me a new contract last Saturday...I'll give it until the beginning of next week and then get a hold of her again. Also, does anyone know, besides the wedding contract what else am I supposed to be getting at this point if anything? Flower, cake options? Or is it too soon for that?

I just want to make sure I have everything I am supposed to before talking to Suzanna again.

This is great advice. While I know that the office is bad with consistency of info being given to people. I think part of the problem with them being overwhelmed is they have way too many brides contacting them while they are trying to figure out the weddings for the next 45 days :) I think a great solution would be if the WC in the US would give us brides a distinct timeline as to when the planning phases and checklists need to be completed and discussed and of course give us concise information packages when we are deciding to book with all of the prices and options!

Then we could all have a some zen :)

I can't wait till April 29th!!! :)

Amen, Jen

Jes, thanks for the info. I think I have hit my budget but oh well!

Is anyone doing two meal options for the reception? I definitely don't want to order all beef or all fish.

Has anyone tried to haggle with the resort on prices. I want to do the dance floor but think that $700 is ridic. Thought about trying to get them to come down.

I am a newbie and have read through a lot of the posts on here and have a few questions.. we are in the process of booking the royal for our wedding and when I contacted Aja she was quick to get me everything I needed even a checklist, but I asked if guests at the Gran needed a pass and she said no. Some of the responses on here seem to say otherwise. Does anyone know if the guests at the Gran need a day pass to come to the wedding and reception? Also, kids are allowed to the wedding, but only to the reception if it is private, correct? As I have said, we just started this process and are crazy in trying to book our wedding for June 2010! So any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

1) How do you pay for the balance of your wedding package? Is it paid for 45days before you get there via credit card or do you pay it once you get down there and that way they have a more accurate total?
I heard something about credit card companies charging fees for international charges so wasn't sure what was the best way to take care of it.

2) Did any of you ladies use cell phones while down there to keep in contact with your guests? How bad was the charges on your bills when you got back sad.gif

Appreciate any info you can give! cheesy.gif

I know that with AT&T you can pay $9.99 for a month of international calling. At least that's what I was quoted. So if you're looking to stay in touch with your guests, the $9.99 might be a small price to pay. Hope this helps!

Hi and welcome!

No guests staying at the Gran Porto do not need to pay for passes for the actual wedding. They will be able to come to the Royal 30 minutes before your ceremony starts. If you have guests who are not staying at the Royal or Gran the rate will be more for them for the actual ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.

However guests at the Gran Porto will not be able to come over to The Royal for anything else besides the wedding unless they purchase a day pass. The rates for the day passes are always changing so you won't know until you get there. There is one exception, guests at the Gran that get the highest level room are free to use both resorts.

You are correct children are allowed to go to any wedding related activities as long as it's a private event.

4 months away! this is the best resource and will help with with everything.
Happy Planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
