ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the info on Wicky's. Can you girls give me a price range for them? I am currently doing the resort restaurant but really having second thoughts. I am already at budget and don't really want to spend any more but have a hard time justifying staying at the resort for a meal similar to the reception! How boring for my guests!

Question for the brides that have gone through the process...

1) How do you pay for the balance of your wedding package? Is it paid for 45days before you get there via credit card or do you pay it once you get down there and that way they have a more accurate total?

I heard something about credit card companies charging fees for international charges so wasn't sure what was the best way to take care of it.

2) Did any of you ladies use cell phones while down there to keep in contact with your guests? How bad was the charges on your bills when you got back sad.gif

Appreciate any info you can give! cheesy.gif

You can pay by check or credit card. On the contract they have the address to mail check to. Since it's the U.S. part of the company that charges you, there shouldnt be any international charges.

Hope this helps!

Hi Lynn,

They are on the pricer side and certainly more expensive than the resort. However their food is amazing quality and their chef is wonderful. It is the open bar that really makes it expensive.

The price can be anywhere from $50 to $100 per person depending on what you do. They do have some other less expensive options like an out door bbq but again with the open bar you would still be look at about $50 per person. I hope this helps.

Thanks Natalie79!

Dianep I would say to call or email until you get a checklist especially since you wedding is less than 3 months away! I got mine when I put my deposit down. The WC at the US company sent it to me. Who is it you're trying to contact? My WC is Angie. I don't think Kimberly is there any more.

i've been working with angie as well. but i can't get a hold of her. i re-sent an e-mail yesterday that i'd sent nearly 2 weeks ago with a few specific questions. aside from the date and time, not a single detail has been addressed. it's time! :)

i think the wedding checklist we all get is same...so maybe one of us could email it to you...and keep emailing angie everyday until she gets back to you!

Has anyone been working with Suzanna? If so, are you having a good response from her? The one time I talked to her on the phone she was very very nice. But I recieved my wedding contract, which had multiple things wrong with it. She told me to keep checking my email for an updated one, but yet to get that now....

I also have Suzanna as a WC. She sometimes takes a very long time to respond. I have found the best way to get it is to call and stay on the phone with her while she sends it. I have done this more than once with her on stuff. She is super friendly, just overwhelmed I think. She told me one day she would send me my checklist right as we got off the phone. I didn't receive it within 20 minutes, so I called back and she sent it "again" while we were on the phone. I don't know if she gets distracted or what the deal is. But she even told me that if we just stay on the phone while she sends everything I am asking for, then she can avoid getting interrupted.

Also, the checklists differ by package. I changed the package that I had signed up for, so now I got a new checklist. If you tell us your package, maybe we can help you out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
