Plus the awards they have received for food far surpasses other AI resorts. And just go back and look at the slide shows of past weddings there. Look how amazing they are.

Don't worry everything will turn out just fine. Don't have any regrets :) Your day will be perfect and exactly what you wanted it to be. In the mean time do what I do and make sure you are stock full of wine ahahah to help you get through it.
Amen, girl!!!

So, I just emailed Zulma and she said that the bridal flowers are $90 and the bridesmaid flowers are $70. I'm confused because mine should be free with the luxury package, and I was quoted $60 for the bridesmaids. I also asked if there was a cheaper option on the bridesmaids flowers and she didn't answer that question =(
I'm starting to get frustrated with the lack of communication and misinformation. I mean how are you supposed to budget correctly if you get 10 different answers from everyone? It also takes forever for anyone to get back to you. I know they are overwhelmed and I honestly wouldn't care about the wait if once they did email you back it was the answer to the question you asked!!!! I'm 3 months away from my wedding and I feel like nothing is planned. It scares me that you don't pick out flowers or anything until the day before the wedding! I mean nobody from the resort will help me on this or give me any difinitive answer on anything.
Who is your WC at the US office. I am getting married two weeks before you and am sending in my wedding checklist and my choices this week as per request from that office. (I also have the luxury pkg) Maybe Zulma is busy with the wedings that are sooner than ours? Whatever price that is on your checklist from when you paid your deposit should be honoured. Do you have a travel agent? Mine has been communicating back and foreth for me with great success.

Hope this helps, sorry you are having troubles sad.gif Weddings are supposed to be fun!!

I told the WC at the US office which pkg I wanted. I got the Real Pkg. I guess she just notes it on your file. Oh and it is also on the wedding checklist I am submitting this week.

Hope this helps!

I agree with all of you. I also think it's important to remember that we are planning weddings in a different country. Although this by no means excuses all the crap that some of you have gone through (and i haven't experienced it), I think this is part of having a destination wedding. My hairdresser got married at the Iberostar a year ago november and she had a very hard time getting in touch with her WC prior to the wedding - i think this is a common thread among destination weddings. Perhaps partly a cultural difference (slower pace, etc), but I do believe that every one of us will come back from our weddings with a big huge smile on our faces!!!

I just signed the contract for my 10-30-10 wedding at the Royal. I'm sorry to hear about all the difficulties everyone is having. My WC, Doreen has been great answering questions on the phone but is not too great over email. But it definitely seems super hectic over there.

I went for a site visit a couple weekends ago, and the resort is amazing. We didn't get to stay there unfortunately, but we did have access to the Gran Porto, which is very nice too.

Since I booked with the "new" pricing, the vendor fee was $350, so I am using the Royal's photographer. Luckily they use Dorremix for the DJ!

I have a question about getting a group rate...They told me I need to put down a deposit for the 1st night of each room. That seems a little crazy to me. I tried getting a TA to help me with this but he said he can't get in touch with them. Does anyone have a block of rooms there without a deposit??
Welcome!

I don't know anything about the group rate, sorry!

So true, even me who is fluent in Spanish and Ecuadoria can't get this craziness straight. Also I know girls here in the US they experience the same thing. One of my really good friends cancelled her wedding at a very expensive place in Cape Cod because they were so terrible with communication. It's universal I think lol

I also just got my checklist two days ago and am getting married May 14. I emailed with several questions and they actually got back to me fairly quickly. . .a nice surprise. Seems like they are very accomodating and very nice (ie willing to change flower colors, can do two meal options etc). As for flowers, brides bouquet is included if you do the standard bouquet. some others (cascading or those with orchids) are more. Bridesmaids are 60 for standard and go up from there as well. Single long stem rose is 15. I am not sure about day pass rates. I was quoted 60 way back when. who knows!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
