ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Thanks, Jennifer! So far I have to say that my WC Julie is doing great as she can with all of work she has so I have no problems.

Just a suggestion, whoever is thinking about getting hair done at the salon should book in advance. I booked hair appts for myself and 3 people on the day of the wedding. The royal easily sells out (ex. No available locations for the rehearsal dinner)

I finally got my wedding contract through e-mail today. Suzanna said they never mail anything they only email or fax. Not sure why she told me last week she was going to mail it out though? Well the wedding contract had our address, FI last name and wedding date wrong! So now that is supposed to be updated and waiting for another one now. Also, I told her legal before and now we are only doing symbolic so that has to be changed.

I haven't received flower or cake options like I thought I was going to....

And it is still driving me nuts that Real doesn't have prices out for Jan 2011 yet!!

This is actually a good thing; get your stuff signed while the prices still reflect 2010 and they will lock you in on the lower rate- that's what I did :-)

For the wedding packages I will be getting all 2011 prices! If I could have locked in for 2010 prices I wouldve!

By rates I meant to room prices aren't out so we can not book still! I would have thought they wouldve been out by now...now the wedding is a little less than 11 months.

Ohhh gotcha! Yeah, I'm in the same boat because I am getting married 2 weeks before you on the 1st. Let me know if you notice an update and I will do the same ;-)

I finally read through most of the thread!! smile159.gif hehe

I just signed the contract for my 10-30-10 wedding at the Royal. I'm sorry to hear about all the difficulties everyone is having. My WC, Doreen has been great answering questions on the phone but is not too great over email. But it definitely seems super hectic over there.

I went for a site visit a couple weekends ago, and the resort is amazing. We didn't get to stay there unfortunately, but we did have access to the Gran Porto, which is very nice too.

Since I booked with the "new" pricing, the vendor fee was $350, so I am using the Royal's photographer. Luckily they use Dorremix for the DJ!

I have a question about getting a group rate...They told me I need to put down a deposit for the 1st night of each room. That seems a little crazy to me. I tried getting a TA to help me with this but he said he can't get in touch with them. Does anyone have a block of rooms there without a deposit??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
