I booked in December and I was also told $100 for an outside vendor in Jan 2010. I am going to email the wc again and I will let you know what they say.

Or do you ladies know if the resort has other linens available besides white?
I asked my wc about the flowers and she said I could bring my own. I did not ask about linens and lighting. Hope this helps a little.

Good idea! WOnder if different cake choice (other than the one from our package) is extra. Compiling a list of questions for the WC. I'm also thinking of getting an event coordinator to deal with all this for me. It's still far in advance, and I'm already starting to get stressed over these details, and waiting for info.

I talked to my shipping coordinator here at work and she said she sends packages to Mexico a lot through work. She said that if you fill out the correct paperwork for customs and detail how much everything in the box is worth then you shouldn't have any problems. I have lik 40lbs in towels here that I just can not bring in a suitcase, so I have no choice. I also want to ship my centerpieces since they are glass and fragile. I'm going to do it anyway and hope for the best. They did say to send everything a month early as long as you contact the wedding coordinator and they know it is coming.
I'm in love with these escort cards.

Do you think I'll have a problem bringing them through customs considering the comment above about shells? Would you be worried about it or go for it?

The main issue is with the Michigan WCs. If you start asking questions early then you shouldn't need an event coordinator. I am almost done with everything and I don't need an outside coordinator. I think it's a waste of money, IMO. I started my planning in advance so that helped.

I think it is a hit and miss. I've read some brides were able to bring them in Mexico, regardless. If you want to try and risk it then go for it but have a backup plan. I wanted to bring in shells for decorations but decided not to.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
