ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Don't know if this has been addresssed in this thread yet, but does the Royal/Gran allow us to bring our own linens? Or use an off-site wedding coordinator to bring in flowers, linens, lighting, etc? I thought I saw that we need to pay $100 per vendor not from their resorts...

Or do you ladies know if the resort has other linens available besides white?

I just looked at the wedding checklist Angie sent me and it says Colour table linen is 25 USD and coloured chair ribbons are 5 USD. Nothing about colour choices though.

That's a good idea Jen, saying we signed the certificate the day before...that's what I'm going with too!!

One other question, has anyone found out when you do the wedding at home, is there a way not to do the vows and ring exchange? I literally want to go to city hall sign paperwork and say OK now we're married, but I'm not sure if that is legal...I guess I could call city hall and find out.
I have been looking up exactly what we are going to have to do and here in Nova Scotia all you have to do is this....

"No particular form of ceremony is required in a marriage that is solemnized by a judge or a justice of the peace designated by the Minister except that in some part of the ceremony, in the presence of the judge or justice and witnesses, each of the parties shall declare

I do solemnly declare that I do not know of any lawful impediment why I, A.B ., may not be joined in matrimony to C.D .

and each of the parties shall say to the other

I call upon all persons present to witness that I, A.B ., do take thee, C.D ., to be my lawful wedded (wife or husband)

after which the judge or justice shall say

By virtue of the authority vested in me by the Solemnization of Marriage Act , I hereby pronounce you, A.B . and C.D ., to be husband and wife"

So I would look up your own local Marriage act but it should be similar which means you will indeed be able to just say "ok we are married" and sign paper work. hahaha

Thanks for the info, ladies! I think I'll end up bringing runners at least. Since there are so few anticipated guests, it might be worth just bringing my own to get the look i want.

As TA Jennifer mentioned, suppliers almost always include transfers and if not I let my clients know right away. In most cases, everyone takes the transfers so I just include them and deduct them out if the couple tells me they want to do a private transfer.

You may want to check into some transfer companies for prices, such as cancun transfers or lomas travel. I got prices from Lomas this morning to the royal pdc and I want to say it was around $45 per person, round trip. They also have options that accomodate more people, and the cost isn't per person, it's just one set fee for the vehicle.

We have people coming in different days and times - I wonder if I should just tell everyone to get a taxi, that it's much cheaper?

What are you guys all doing?
WHAT!! that is insane our TA quoted us $30 pp round trip. And if we did a bus for 24 it as like $230. Something is not right there. I would look into my ow travel. Try Best Day and Lomas Travel. The more people in one van the less expensive.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
