Recommended Posts

Definitly call tomorrow. Suzanna was very nice and couldn't apologize more. We'll just see if I get the contract!! I'm sure I will.

I also talked to Suzanna yesterday. She had sent me an email last week apologizing for not getting back to me sooner. However, she never responded after I replied. So I am just getting in the habit of calling when I have questions rather than emailing. She will normally respond in an email to all of my questions while we are on the phone to make sure I get everything in writing. I highly recommend calling. You may have to wait on hold for a little bit, but it is definitely worth it.

I'm living in West Africa so calling is tough but I'll try, thanks. At one point we were told the same thing about flowers - they can do it based on color.

Is anyone else worried about overbooking at the Royal? I know they are sold out the whole weekend of our wedding (April 17), as is the Grand Porto, so I'm a bit nervous.

And does anyone have a copy of what type of events the Royal offers each night? I have been trying to track that down for months...

I tried to book a site visit at the Royal starting April 24 and the Royal is totally booked the 24th. We ended up at the Gran for that night and then at the Royal for 3. I checked with TA Jennifer about the availability for the weekend before our wedding in June and there are still rooms but not a ton of them. It's certainly something I'm going to watch.

The Royal is extremely popular and we are hearing that many weekends are sold out or close it it this spring- I do have to note that our suppliers(for TA Jennifer & TA Jill) have a guaranteed no bump policy!

Please note that the online agencies do not have the same policy so please warn your guests that it could be a possibility- and it is likely if the resort is oversold that the guest will be responsible for transportation and also a day pass fee ( it is the online agencies that are overselling their allotted inventory-not the resort -therefor the resort is not responsible!!)

Just a heads up on this!

Question ladies: For a symbolic ceremony, you go through the entire wedding as if you are getting married correct? Do you still sign anything afterwards?

I'm having second thoughts and thinking of do the legal stuff here (if the city hall here doesn't make you say the vows- I just basically want to go to city hall sign the paperwork, get on the plane and off we go) the thing is we are only telling our parents and no one else. Im nervous about people finding out during the ceremony we are already married. Does anyone know how real it appears doing just symbolic?

I would appreciate any advice on this....

We are doing the same thing. I really think that it is much like the real thing, however, I dont think you have to sign anything which is usually part of the ceremony. We are only telling my parents (FI's wont even know) about getting married before. It is something we thought about for a long time but in the end it was better for us. If you are worried about people knowing I don't think anyone will know. Good luck!

We are doing the same thing. I also worry about anyone finding out, but I have been reassured that no one will know the difference. This is because you can request the ceremony to be exactly the same. We aren't even telling our parents, as we are getting my fiance's coworkers to witness for us at home. If any one asks we are going to say that we signed the certificate earlier that day (I heard that when there are alot of weddings, that can happen anyway, so the WC's can get the legal paperwork done). So pretty much we are going to deny, deny, deny, so much so that we will probably have convinced ourselves as well. hahaha.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
