It was $100/vendor for us. We already put down the money for all of them. Also, if you are doing a legal wedding, keep in mind that there is a $75 blood test fee. I forgot about it, but noticed it on our bill.

I think I have one hour in between. I decided to have my photographer use some of this time for group pictures so it doesn't interupt the cocktail hour. Another idea, I think another bride on her said, was to have the parents host something at one of the bars. Like the cigar bar. Other guests who don't want to do that can go and freshen up. You have to think that if you were doing a normal wedding at home, a big chunck of time is given between the wedding and reception due to pictures, etc. So this is really no different. I would set up a host party or something like that. Plus it will make your parents feel important the day of.

Hi - I recommend TA Jennifer. You can get in touch with her by going to the top of this page and clicking on the BDW Travel Agent banner. TA Jennifer posted a response on page 265. She's awesome to work with and she handles all correspondence with the WC's.

I thought it would be better if previous dates were eliminated...makes the list shorter and easier to read! Once a certain date is passed, then it can be eliminated from the list. Up next is Playa2009!

I would love to know if any past Royal brides just figured out all the last minute details once arriving at The Royal. When reading everyones reviews of weddings at The Royal, it sounds like they meet with the wc when they arrive and figure out the details. I would love any advice from past brides. Thanks!
I'm dealing with the same situation. I was contacted by Zulma once last Friday, and after replying via email with questions (and even tried calling), we have received no response!! Our wedding is next Friday and we don't have our meeting with her until the DAY BEFORE, so we really need some questions answered!!! SOO frustrating.....

Ok, Jesmcan, i got the answers (questions you asked) that were relevant to me.

From Julie...

I am attaching the menu for the cocktail hour. I would say it is an open bar. There is a waiter that walks around with cocktails. If there is a kind of drink that he doesnâ€t have on him, I am sure he can get it. The $10 does include the bar. I would not charge kids for the cocktail hour (under 16) so on your checklist (which by the way did you get?) state the ages of the kids.

The ceremony lasts about a half hour.

LadyDi- Thanks for that info, I was wondering myself!

For everybody else, I just wanted to reassure all of you who are having trouble with the WC's (US or Mexico) that everything will work out perfectly on your day. After my mishap with a cancelled wedding (rebooked for an earlier time, luckily) I have been working directly with Zulma and her assistant Michelle. They have been AMAZING!!! I have had no trouble with emails and am immediately connected with Zulma when I call. They tell me how their goal is to make me as happy as possible. I am sooo happy with them!! They even gave me a free cocktail hour and discount on my vendor fee for the inconvenience of now having four hours in between my ceremony and reception.

I'm not sure why some of you have had trouble with communication with them. Do you have TA's that can help the process? I have always reached them in the morning before weddings have started. I have noticed that Michele sometimes will not answer an email if a response is not needed. Keep in mind that during this season they can have up to seven weddings a day!

All in all I think that Zulma will make sure that everyone has their perfect wedding! I hope this helps

-Lynds

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
