That also explains why the wedding department is overwhelmed!

I can not stress enough to have your guests book ASAP and that if the resort sells out-which is highly likely- that they are responsible to pay the day pass!

That should get them to hurry up!

Thanks Jennifer - very helpful for everyone!!!

I am not sure if my wedding planner has had these problems, mostly she has been fighting with Air Canada, because they are not very good with their customer service.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had any advice about the age restriction at the resort. I know it is 16+, but my FI has an uncle who wants his daughter to come, she will be 15 and a half. Do you think they are flexible with the age a bit, or are they super anal about it?

Thanks!

Shirley -

The Royal is an adults only resort, meaning guests have to be 18+. Those under 18 and families can stay at the Gran Porto and attend the wedding ceremony and reception.

That gets me thinking though - anyone know if there is a bar set-up a the reception (like, right on the beach if that's where the reception is)?
Yes there is a bar set-up right on the beach where the reception is. We saw it when we went on our site visit. All the prices do include open bar. The bar is set up beautifully. The one we saw was three tiers and they lit it up. It looked besutiful at night.

That is very cool! I can't wait to see it all set up!

Not sure if anyone spoke of this but what is everyone getting for their parents gifts? I was thinking of doing something with the spa, but I don't know if that is too little.

I was also wondering if anyone is getting married on the beach? I see so many talk about getting married in the gazebo, just curious about the beach. My fiance doesn't know why we would go to Mexico to get married if we aren't standing in the sand. :P Is it a privacy preference that people tend to use the gazebo more?

Thanks!

I am getting married on the beach because I've always wanted to get married on the beach. Lot of brides use gazebo because of onlookers but a beach wedding will guarantee you onlookers. I am okay with that as long they aren't walking around NUDE!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
