How long did you date before enagaged?

Recommended Posts

We started dating October of 2007, got engaged December 2009, and will be married on our 4 year anniversary October 2011.

We just knew too. We were "seeing each other" for about 3 weeks. When I say I was seeing him, I maybe saw him 3 times in those 3 weeks. haha. Then we ended up in this terrible incident where my FI was jumped by about 10 guys. He was hurt badly. Only our 2nd date technically. I was so worried about him, I stayed over for the first time and took care of him. I never left after that. I slowly started moving my stuff over, until we had to move to accommodate all of my stuff. But we loved every moment. I have had other very serious relationships, and like you said, none were like this. He had never lived with someone else, until me. We just meshed so well that we were like two peas in a pod after that one night. Love him to death!

We joke we're on the 10, 10, 10 plan.  We dated for 10 months before getting engaged.  We are getting married in cabo 10 months after we got engaged.  We hope to be pregnant 10 months after our wedding. : ) We knew eachother for 1 year before we began dating.  But I agree with Lisa.... when you know, you know!

We have dated for almost 6 years.  It will be almost 7 years when we wed!  I used to think that was a long time to date someone, until I read this post.  We actually never really wanted to marry until the past year.  We jokingly called each other "life partners" bc boyfriend/girlfriend just didn't describe our relationship enough.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
