Hi cruise brides!

This is a multi-part question...

1) Are any other cruise brides doing OOT bags? If so, what are you putting in them?

2) Also, are any of you doing doorhangers (so everyone knows which rooms are which)?

3) I am trying to figure out the best way for guests to communicate while on the ship. I think I'll do post-it notes in their OOT bags so they can stick notes on doors. But I'd also like to do some sort of a "central message board" where people can post notes about what they're doing etc.. Has anyone had any ideas about doing something like this, and if so, how would you do it?

1) Ok I'm doing:
~Postcards made on vistaprint (if you are going to do this let me know don't upload your own pics you can find good ones on there a different way)
~Photoshare cards made on vistaprint business cards
~Luggage tags, I bought advantus badge holders off amazon and two different business cards from vistaprint and glued them onto a piece of cardstock.. haven't made loops for the handles yet might do ribbon
~Doortags you can use broacher template on vistaprint… copy to all three panels and then you can make 3x as many, they aren't too thick so I think will need to laminate them
~Mini hand sanitzer (during back to school time Staples had them for a penny each!)
~First aide kits: aspirin, bandaides, alcohol wipes, alka seltzer, kids icepacks (have ocean animals on them, are in the Target dollar spot right now), sunscreen packets, motion sickness pills, aloe (only have some of these things so far) -using pencil cases from the staples penny sale to put the stuff in
~Girly bags for the women: mini nail polish, polish remover, nail files.. not sure what else if anything yet
~Eye glass cleaner (for everyone's sunglasses), they were on sale at Target a while back and they came in individual packets so I scooped up a bunch
~Tissue packets from dollar tree, 8 for $1 they are bright colors
~Chapstick, ordered return address labels from vistaprint to make labels for them but it is too big and I don't like it so I might make a different one (love how cheap vistaprint is!)
~Puzzle books, made myself and printed them out at school before I graduated haha gotta get my moneys worth!
~Coloring books for the kids, 1 of ocean animals, 1 wedding.. printed out the same way
~Maps of Miami, uploaded and printed from vistaprint
~Vistaprint pen, sticky pad, and hats (I've ordered these one by one and only have 7 I might have to bail on this idea or just put them in the bridal party bags?)
~Food: lifesavers, swedish fish, mints, gum, goldfish, pringles with the customized labels.. anything else that I can think of that is cruise related
~Playing cards.. probably just get them from the dollar tree or get the beach ball ones from OTC but they don't look very practical
~Sign and Sail pass holders.. maybe the hibiscus coin purses from OTC? with lanyards or a carabiner clip
~Water bottles with personalized labels or travel cups or mugs? not sure about this one yet.. do people think it is worth it oon a cruise?
~Welcome note, timeline, list of excursions with ours highlighted

2) yup- used vistaprint brochures

3) I think post-its are a good idea and if you want to do a central dry erase board then you could put it on your door, they have some in the dollar spot at Target right now.

Thanks Megan,

I'm thinking the same thing about giving the random vistaprint gifts to bridal party. As for the personalized water bottles, I think that is definitely a good idea for a cruise. I can't recall if Carnival does this, but I know on Royal Caribbean they had water bottles in our room but for sale at a ridiculous price. So I think giving guests some water to keep in their room is a good idea. Also, some of my guests are going to be bringing their own alcohol and just getting the soda card. So I think if anyone is doing that then a travel mug could be a good idea. Otherwise I don't know how practical it would be.

I'm thinking of just getting personalized travel cups for the bridal party from discountmugs.com..

I like your idea of the lanyards. I may look at that too...

I'm not a cruise bride, but I've been on a bunch (LOVE THEM! :) and we travel in large groups.

So I think I can try and help a little in regards to the group communication. The BEST investment we made were the little hand held walkie talkies. They are $17 at Walmart for two of them. They are small enough that they fit into little purses. And really each couple only needs one. But they are awesome. Basically, instead of having to go all the way to the rooms to see what people are doing, you just radio a question. Everyone answers "i'm at the pool, I'm at the casino, Oh, going to the show in 10 minutes" That type of thing. Then you can just simply meet up with people. Our favorite is "24 hour pizza bar in 10 minutes." We'd get to the pizza bar and our entire party would be there! mmm we love us some Pizza!! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
