What to wear?

Recommended Posts

I believe that a lot of the sit-down dinner places have dress codes. Hopefully a preivous ROR bride can help with the specifics though!

I also have a dress code question - I beleive guys are not allowed to wear flipflops/sandals for the sit down dinners. First, is that correct? Second, does that apply to wedding parties? (I want all the groomsman in leather flipflop sandals...)

The dress code for walking around in the evenings is whatever you want it to be! But I do notice a lot of ladies like to wear dresses (including me) in the humidity because they are just more comfortable to wear in the heat and humidity than shorts! I would bring a lot of cute breezy dresses and/or skirts!

Some of the restaurants do have dress codes and they are more strict with the men - long pants and close-toed shoes. I will try to find a thing I brought home with me that outlined the dress code for the different restaurants and post it later today after work.

I live in skirts and dresses all summer long, way more comfortable and cooler then shorts. I think you can dress up or down a skirt as much as you want, tank top flip flops and your ready for the day, throw on a dressy shoe and your ready for the night.

Sorry for the bad scan - but this is the little info sheet you get about the restaurants at the Riu Ocho Rios:

Now that I think about it, we never ran into any troubles with footwear, and they dont specify any footwear requirements on this sheet. You'll see under dinner, they have little pictures on the left - they mean "No Shorts", and "No Tank Tops".

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
