Sandals question...

Recommended Posts

It used to be that Sandals would not allow two people of the same sex to share a room- they were trying to keep the romantic ambiance of the resorts. Times have changed and with all of the weddings and a general openess all around Sandals changed the rules( quite awhile ago) will allow two people of the same sex to share a room! I just had a wedding go down to Sandals Negril and quite a few of the guests shared a room with no problem at all!

One area where we have to call and speak to the resort manager for permission is to book single gentlemen. As long as they are with a wedding party it's no problem but outside of that it is extremely hard. Sandals is very concerned that their guests feel comfortable at all times- they don't want a guy hitting on a married woman.

It sounds like your TA probably doesn't sell much Sandals for weddings and wasn't aware of the change in policy.

One thing to keep in mind is that the resorts ONLY have king beds so the two people will have to share the same bed. They can bring in cots to the suite levels only - for the lower category rooms the king beds don't leave enough extra space to put in a cot and walk around both the bed and the cot.

Thanks Jennifer! I just needed to vent my frustration. I think what bothers me most is that I have yet to hear back from our TA. Either way, friends and family are starting to reserve their rooms so if he doesn't want those reservations, that's fine. All that matters to me is that the people that want to be there are able to be there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
