Where do I start?!?

Hawaii is awesome!!! So pretty. I ended up choosing Fiji as my location. Even though hardly anyone is coming, I wouldnt change it. But if having everyone show up, I wouldnt suggest somewhere that would cost a lot to get to, like the Pacific or Europe.

Depending on what you call spectacular -- I say, start doing some online research. If you want to stay stateside, look up some private villas in maybe California or Florida. I think a summer in Maine would be awesome. Mexico is nice. I think large resorts are good for large groups but if it was me having to get married in Mexico, I would pick some place very small and less tourist-y. I have a friend who got married in Columbia, there is Belize, Curacao and Aruba, or you can do a cruise line!

I started by looking at stuff that was important to me - like legalities... I wanted one stop shopping kinda wedding... then I went with the most exotic local...then I went with the resort that I had to worry least about planning ( just really have to show up)... and then I went with price... ( I know this is so evil but I had to pick a place where I could price some folks out... didnt want wedding crashers) After that, I talked to some DW TAs. There are some here on this forum. My TA pretty much work with each of my guest.

Im so excited for you! Congrats!!!

Hi Megan,

Welcome! If I were having an intimate wedding I would do it in Fuji or Bora Bora. It just can't get more beautiful than that. Is there any place that you and your Fiance have been to before that means something to you? Or is there a place that has a certain flare that means something to you? That helped us...we tried to think of places that we have had special times in so that we could share it with the people we love.

Also with your son, just take a red-eye and he will be fine!

We recently went to an intimate wedding in hawaii on Kona Island. It was PERFECT. Maybe look into the smaller less sought after islands and resorts and it can be more affordable.

this site is helpful. I'm sure you will find some ideas.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
