Just got back from Cabo-Site Visit!

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone I just got back from Cabo yesterday and I had a blast. I took care of all my wedding plans and had fun. If anyone is planning a site visit do it now because all the whales are down there and it is so amazing. Dreams is the only hotel where I got to see the whales jumping throughout the ocean-it was great!

On to the wedding-I met with Yesica she is great. I feel assured by her-she seems like she has got everything in control. We are so novice to this wedding stuff. As first timers we thought the site visit would take all day in actuality it took about 30 mins... We had the day planned out Yesica 9am-1am, DJ at Dreams Lobby at 1:30pm and Photographer at 2:00pm? So we told Yesica that we had planned to spend the day their (yikes) doing all our business-she looked at us like we should have thought about that better. But, in the end it ended being a fantastic day. Yesica treated us to lunch and we got to lay out on the beach and watch all the whales go by till 1:30pm. DJ Richardo is a good man. He came very professional and funny. He even had some great ideas for us! Then we waited till 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00 for Tomas Barron the photographer. We got our lines crossed and he thought we planned it for another day? We both apologized and moved on... But, due to waiting for Tomas we had a grand chance to watch another wedding! This was the best! I was able to see the brides hair and make-up from the salon (hum-I am not sure if she was happy-but of course she looked beautiful). We saw the set-up, decor, trio, and cocktail hour and it was great. I left feeling that everything is going to be fine! Brides we are good hands...

The next day on to another adventure. We went to the Divine Divas house for cake tasting-that was amazing! Her cakes are to die for and she is sooooo sweet! We felt at home and comfortable there! We told her about our stay blah, blah, blah... We did mention we were unsure of Tomas Barron and she offered to call her dad who was a photographer. Jen was so nice called her dad right away and sure enough he had our wedding date open and agreed to meet us that day. Peter Hatton is a great guy. He is funny and sincere, we ended up talking to them both for a couple of hours. It was nice to walk away knowing we had a great cake, and photographer for our wedding.

As we waited for the local bus to get to the hotel we discussed everything. Yesica is a great coordinator, DJ Richardo Patino great, Jen Hatton great cake, and Peter Hatton great photographer. Our day is not stressful for me anymore and that was a great feeling leaving. I am still up on the fence about using the Dreams Salon? But that is a personal choice I have to make... I hope this helps

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I've been trying to decide to use Jen Hatton for cake as well. I emailed her about a week ago, but I still haven't heard back. What sort of prices does she have? Would you say that they are reasonable?

Jennifer's cakes are great! We had carrot with cream cheese frosting. We made sure to bring boxes for everyone and I heard raves about our guests midnight snacks the next day. :) She's very nice too!

You're in good hands with DJ Ritchie too. He really cares about how good of a job he does.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
