online booking, who is reputable?

I am needing to book a one night stay at Azul Beach Resort for a site visit. Their website won't let you book less than 3 nights. However, I came across a few online booking sites that would.

The last thing I want to do is book a night and get screwed over when we get in Mexico.

I have read the thread warning about Expedia and Orbitz so I know to stay away from them.

So that leaves me with Bookit.com or Hotels.com.

I have also been contemplating booking a standard room vs deluxe room...

Any thoughtshuh.gif

I have always had a good experience with hotels.com. I think for a site visit you can be a little "riskier" and book it though a website like those. For your wedding you can't afford any risk, but for a site visit if your room got bumped, etc. you could probably still work things out.

Many of my friends suggested hotels.com for planning a europe trip. It really worked out perfect. It's what they always use too & are very happy with it.

I have used all the major sites (expedia, travelocity, orbitz, hotels.com, bookit) for both business and personal travel and the only one I ever had trouble with was hotels.com. They couldn't find the hotel reservation for one of my employees and of course the hotel was booked as were all hotels nearby. It caused a big headache for the employee. Then when I contacted them and forwarded the email confirmation that I had received from them, they still couldn't find the reservation. It really amazed me. Plus they weren't helpful or sympathetic or anything. But with that said, a perfectly reputable company can make a mistake. Good luck with booking the room. I am sure everything will work out great. Just call to confirm a couple days before you leave to make sure they have the reservation.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
