Involving mothers in ceremony on the beach

Recommended Posts

Hey All- I'm planning a ceremony on the beach and am looking for ways to involve the mothers since we won't be having the traditional candle ceremony done in more traditional weddings. Anyone have any ideas on ways to involve both mothers in the ceremony? I dont think we're going to do the sand ceremony. Thoughts? THANK YOU!

This is a great question that I could use input on as well! FI's mother is deceased, so we are doing a memorial flower that he will place in her empty chair. We are also doing a sand ceremony and decided that we will be the only two pouring sand (since his parents won't be in attendance). I'm also looking for a way to involve my mother in the ceremony.

Will it seem weird if I present my mom with flowers when there's no one on FI's side to present flowers too? Maybe we can present my mom with flowers and then FI and place the memorial flower in the empty chairhuh.gif I don't know what to do here.

At our legal ceremony in Hawaii we are going with the traditional Hawaiian wedding ceremony, and we will be doing a Lei cermony where we present our mom's with lei's. There's a whole thing we say and what not. I wonder if there is something similar in the Mexican culture that you could use?

I would suggest having them do a reading or something. We will each be placing roses in reserved empty seats in memory of our deceased parents (my mom and his dad).

Other than that I really don't have any other suggestions. Sorry!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
