Here is a Location Challenge for All of you ladies.....!

Recommended Posts

Okay, so in trying to figure out what type of DW/location I want, I realized that I LOVE LOVE the Las Caletas concept....going to a private island via a Party Boat :) Kind of traditional wedding mixed with a non-traditional location....the bonfire reception, all the candles and tiki torches....anyway.... I LOVE it...BUT (there's always a BUT!)....my FI has nixed Mexico and Jamaica as our location...whyhuh.gif Well, I'm not sure, and either is he but those are two places he does NOT want to get married. Plus, because all of our guests are on the East Coast, this destination would be more expensive than, say, Dominican Republic, which is why we were leaning that way. ANYWAY.....the challenge is....Does anyone know of a set up similar to Las Caletas BUT in the Caribbean...or one of the islands closer the east side than west.....whew....sorry for the long post!

not a private island but we honeymooned in eleuthera, bahamas. heres a funny entry in my blog about it, history, etc... Leigh Miller Photography. we would go back in a minute and the owner of the house we rented wanted me to come back and shoot her wedding in may but i was already booked. she had her wedding on the beach at the house.

heres a really cool location in eleuthera - capricorn house | Eleuthera Bahamas Vacation Rental Home on the Beach

heres a little private island just off eleuthera and harbour island - CARIBE CAY -www.myownprivateisland.com - the cool thing about this place is how close it is to the other two islands where guests could stay.

here are two great places to stay in harbour island - Rock House Harbour Island Bahamas

Jen I am sure there are tons of places that you can hold a private ceremony on. I am just curious, why doesn't your FI want to do it in Mexico if you love las Caletas so much. Ann is getting married there and it seems like such a gorgeous place. Is there a specific reason why he is so against it. Also, if you are looking for a photog I would highly recommend Leigh, she is so nice and her work is stunning.

Yeah, that's the million dollar question! I have no idea why not, and he has no idea why not, those are just two places he thinks "everyone gets married"....ummmmm.....apparently we are a celebrity couple and need to do things differently.....and NO ONE gets married in DR or the caribbean in general....hahahaha!!!!
I'm working on him :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
