Okay, ladies, so I am now dreaming my wedding at least once a week in some way, shape, or form. LOL.

I am supposed to go and register for gifts today, FI STILL needs a suit and we still can't find his ring! He says he may just buy a new one! We want to get ours engraved so we need to jump on that.

I have been racking my brains over this but I have NO clue what color to paint my nails on our big day! My dress is an off-white color and my wedding colors or red/gold. I don't want to wear something too dark but do not like french manicures. Any suggestions?

AHH! JULY BRIDES!!!

yeah looks like its going to be in our living room, ive had no word otherwise about the rooftop deck. i am going to check in with the building manager on thursday this week to see if he has any more news, if not, i will print the invitations on sunday so i can send one to mexico with jose when he goes there on a business trip on the 11th, so he can give it to his parents.

my stepmom came over last night to finalize details for my shower and bring over all her silver serving trays and stuff so we could figure out where everything would go. she said she can borrow folding chairs from her best friend and we can rearrange our living room furniture and set up the chairs. we're going to get folding chair covers from costco this week for that.

i figure if we end up being able to use the roof, cool, we can carry the chairs up there, otherwise just do it in the living room because im not paying to use a venue for my civil ceremony, i want it to be simple and its already been complicated KWIM?

i love the color "ballet slipper" nail polish by essie. its a simple very light sheer pink. it's what i plan on wearing because i have an ivory dress and also dont want a french manicure.

i just made my appointment on friday to drop my ring off at the jeweler for a dip and professional cleaning for Monday, June 30th! the jeweler said he needed 3 days to complete both tasks (well, he is also going to buff out a ding on one side of my band too, but he said that only adds one day onto the wait). so ladies be advised that if you need your ring dipped, its not always a one-day thing!

i've seen a really pretty reddish color with a golden sheen to it, that would be pretty and different.

Yay, I'm having my bridal shower on the 14th as well, I'm so excited, but a bit nervous about having all these women who have never met before in the same room and I am the reason. As far as planning, I'm on the later part of July, so I still have 7 weeks. I just finished out BM and GM gifts, just need to figure out a way to give them to the people. What are you girls doing for gift giving? Are you having a bridesmaid luncheon or giving them one girl at a time? I really wanted to do a luncheon, but I can't seem to get all my girls together at one time. I would really love to hear some advice on this, I'm not even sure what the etiquette is on this.

maura, does your band twirl around your finger when you try it with your e-ring? i'm trying to decide if i should solder them to mine, and if that can be undone later with the addition of an upgrade?? anyone know if you can solder 14k to 10k??

no my band doesnt move. my e-ring is sized 5 3/4 and i got the wedding band in a 6. they are almost identical in size and fit. i would not solder it if i were you. can you post some photos or a video with your camera so i can see?

(also, abb, can you go check the august brides thread, my AA flower approval pics were sent to me this morning and i need advice, i just dont want to double post it on both july and aug threads)

GREAT advice, Maura!!! Thanks for the heads up. I need to take mine in about a week or so for the final 'white gold' dip :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
