Hola July brides!

I have not done this yet... I need to. I am so going to dread lugging that big ass dress around with all my stuff! I so wish I could take it PLUS a little carry-one with me but I doubt they'll let me. Has anyone called? I also ordered these personalized matchbooks but I don't think I'll be able to bring. sad.gif Darn.

Well ladies, Jorge and I FINALLY got him a new ring! LOL. Sunday. The last one was engraved and very detailed and this one is a plain white gold band with a trim around it. HE BETTER NOT LOSE IT. I will keeel him this time around! It's at the store being sized.

My bachelorette party and bridal shower weret his weekend but I left the camera at my parents so I'll post pics when I get it back. They were both sooo fun :)

Nine more days til I leave, holy heck! I just need to finish printing out placecards and still need to burn a CD of music for in between the band sets.

That underwater camera sounds cool! I got a disposable one once when I was snorkeling in the Caribbean and the pics came out amazing. So I can only imagine a pro camera will be phenomenol.

How long will you guys be at your resorts/hotels before you marry? We go down on Thurs and get married Saturday.

erica, i called AA and asked about my dress and they said i could have that be my personal item in addition to a carry on piece of luggage. however, i'm considering just putting my dress inside a carry on piece of luggage anyway because the hotel is going to steam out the wrinkles for me anyway. i know it will be safe and i wont worry if it's inside of a suitcase. i remember recently reading from someone else on here (i think it was helen s?) that on their flight to her daughter's wedding, she was not the only bride, and they did not have a closet for her to hang anything. some of the brides dresses had to go in the overhead bins, and luckily hers was in a suitcase so nothing happened to it. i'm really really considering doing this.

so so glad you got jorge a new ring! hang onto it! dont let it out of your sight haha

to answer your question about how long we're staying - we fly down on a wednesday morning and get married saturday and then stay until the following saturday for the honeymoon.

I called AA and the lady was more then NOT helpful. I asked her if i need to let them know in advance about my dress (thinking that maybe they can hold the closet for me) but she just said let them know when you check in... boo for an answer

I am flying down there this sunday and getting married on Thursday and then leaving Saturday.. not very long.. didn't have the money or time off work to stay longer.. we might go to Vegas this winter to make up for it...

So you don't think they will let you bring matches... i have lighters.. should i take them out? there in my checked luggage... dang it it is already back!

Any one a little nervous to be getting married? I am getting anxioity a little.. not sure if i am just so excited for all this to come or that i am nervous of being a good wife.. I hope it passes.. legal day is friday! I just need to keep my time occupied..

(that sounds bad... I want to get married so bad but i guess just excited .. who knows)

That is awesome they said you can bring hte dress as the carry-on. Now I don't know if I should do that or stick it in a suitcase! LOL. And I am going to guard BOTH rings with my LIFE! LOL. That is great you guys are going for a week and a half. We're going for 9 days.

Lighters should be fine.. in "checked luggage" just not matches. Double check with your airline, though.
Nicole, I can honestly say the only emotion I hae experienced lately is STRESS over this wedding! LOL!!! But I bet your bottom dollar the day of I am going to be both nervous and stressed. I really don't like to be the center of attention. It makes me feel weird so I'm going to be having panic at tacks while everyone watches me coming down the aisle. HAHA.

Aeromexico will let me carry my dress as my personal item. They have small closets, so I think laying it on top of the other carry ons in the overhead bin would be okay? I guess it depends on how bulky/fluffy your dress is.

I have decided to trash tradition and stay with Jay the night before our wedding day. I am trying to do everything totally opposite of my first wedding, so against my mother's wishes, we are staying together. I think waking up with him and having breakfast will really calm my nerves. He can just leave after breakfast, so that we at least have 6 hours apart and there will be some excitement.

Nicole,

For me, it's my mother and sister who drive me the battiest! They are more worried than I am and that causes me to become worried!

I think it is because the lighter is sealed in tight (the fluid) in plastic whereas the match has that flammable seal thingy on the outside that can ignite. Crazy, huh? :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
