i am a street size 8 and the davinci bridal dress is a bridal 14, but i needed it altered down. the 12 was slightly tight in the hips so she ordered it one size up for me just in case i wasnt able to lose enough weight.

i like the longer one too, i think its "younger" looking and more "me" if ya KWIM. just gotta figure out how to keep my boobies in it though! haha. i ordered the jcrew dress in a 12, only because jcrew stuff seems to run a little small and typically when i buy pants there, they have to be a 10. i ordered a dress there awhile back that was an 8 and it was too tight for my comfort, so i figure by ordering a 12 ill be safe and will need to have it altered for length anyway since im 5'2". the problem for me is that i would order the petite since those are for people under 5'4", but the hips would be too tight because i have stupid wide hips. smile105.gif

i freakin hate this! i'm short too (5'3") and i firmly believe that just because you need a shorter, more proportionate length, it does NOT mean you are a tiny person all over. so freaking frustrating! i am constantly having to hem things. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

oh i know. i have to have EVERYTHING hemmed, even my freakin jeans. i automatically tack $15 on the price of everything i buy that would require alterations, and if i think $15 extra isnt worth it, i dont buy whatever it is.

too bad you dont live closer to teach me how to do it. i've been contemplating buying a sewing machine recently, but i have no time really to learn how to do it, and nobody to teach me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
