I'm wondering something here. Slight problem. I found a dress that I "think" I want. Its about half as much as the one I originally chose, so that reason alone is decent incentive for me. Its similar in style as well, so I don't feel like I'd be giving up much. Problem is, my colors are crimson red and ivory. The dress is white. I truly want an ivory dress, so I'm wondering if anyone has ever heard of or know of a dress being dyed?

I did a search and this is what I found.

I am currenlty searching for the perfect wedding dress. I really would like a dress like Gwen Stefani but I needed to know if I could have someone dye a wedding dress for me. I want the bottom to be dark pink just like her dress. Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks,

Dear Tifanie,

Gwen's dress is beautiful, you are right. Here is the deal. You cannot dye a synthetic wedding dress at all, one made of acetate or polyester, which is what most are. The fabric would have to be silk for it to work. The best plan would be to take a photo of the dress to the most expert wedding dress seamstress in your town. See if she can replicate it for you. Make sure that you inquire about her dyeing experience before you start. Yes, it might cost a bunch, but hopefully it will be what you want. I hope you have a few months before the wedding because this is going to be a big project. If you are anywhere near me in central Texas, I would recommend Linda Carter at Carter Creations. She knows fabrics, design, & dyeing, & might be willing to take this on. Let me know if that could work & I will send you her contact info.

Happy Wedding,

hmm....I was the maid of honor for a friend's wedding last year, and don't think I'll ever wear the aqua again. Pretty sure it's silk...maybe I'll dye it! Unless, of course, anyone here would be interested in an aqua Kathlin Argiro v-neck silk halter dress? wink.gif

I'm pretty sure it's a size 8, but I'll double check and then maybe post in in the stuff for sale section. Until I posted the above, I hadn't even thought about how many people might be interested in aqua dresses on here! (In fact, I'm having drinks with two of the other bridesmaids tonight, and I'll ask if they'd be interested in selling theirs, too.)

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
