Off the wall pet names

Recommended Posts

Ok before I say anything I want you all to know that I'm aware of my corniess.

I know Joe and I are not the only ones who have an off the wall, border line corny pet name for each other. It all started 14-15 years ago with me calling my family dog (Ted) "Boobies", don't ask me how it started, but it just did. Well I made the mistake of calling Joe that a while ago and it stuck and we both use it for each other and we just cant stop saying it. It's like my first name now to him. Sometimes he'll call me "Linky" or "Booba-link link butt". NOOOO idea where he came up with it but it's just funny to us and he just made me say it at work on the phone and I was dying laughing. This should totally be on the "Confessins" thread! smile120.gif

So what do you and your FI call each other?

Okay I was laughing out loud when I read this because our name is almost identical - FI and I call each other "BOOGIE" - The worst thing is I have no idea how it started - I think one day FI had a booger and I started calling him boogie and now that is all we call each other - sometimes we use BOOG - honestly we use it in public etc. and people often give us weird looks!

I call Doug "Pie" short for as in "Popeye (think 'the The Sailor Man')" cause when we were first dating I used to grab his "guns" (arm muscles) and say "wow you must eat a lot of spinach!"

Mostly Doug will call me Baby but it get confusing when his daughter is around so he also calls me Gail short for Abigail which is not my name and I don't like it when people call me that, so he is the only one allowed. Also every once in a while he will call me Babs, as a combo for "Baby" and "Abs" which he accidentally combined one time and it stuck.

This thread will be fun!

OMG yes, same here to the public thing. He said Boobies at his moms house and she looked at him real stern and said "Joe that is disrespectful, dont call her that." And we started lauging so hard and explained that it was ok, etc. It sounds that way cause it's "boobs" but thats not why we say it. Too funny.

FI sister and I are both named jennifer so when we are all together it gets confusing so he started referring to me as "girlfriend jen". it just sort of stuck and now I am just "girlfriend" all the time to FI. He says that more than my actual name so I tease him that he is afraid of calling me the wrong name so I am just generic girlfriend. It's cute when he says it but I don't know what will happen once we are married. Will he start calling me "wife"?

Maybe. Some really good friends of ours call eachother roommate. It's kinda funny.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
