Hi Girls! I've been M.I.A. the last week or so --- it's been CRAZY! Phil and I leave on Tuesday!!!! Here's my stuff!

The Rings:

His ring (ordered from Tungsten Jewelry - Mens & Womens Tungsten Carbide Wedding Rings, Bands, Watches & Bracelets:)

They also do engraving - they send you the ring first to make sure it's the one you want ... then you send it back to them. Unfortunately, I couldn't decide what I want to have engraved in time to have it done before the wedding ...

The dress is the Semilla from Pronovias and I bought it at LuLu's in Dallas (they were AWESOME):

We also ordered mexican wrestling masks for the kids and a few other fun things from Marcia's Mexican Wonders.

Gifts for our moms (Can't remember who did this earlier, but got the idea from one of the girls. Our birthday is engraved on one side and wedding date on the other. Frames were from Picture Frames, Photo Albums, Personalized and Engraved Digital Photo Gifts - SendAFrame - I was really happy with the engraving and the quality of the frame. We got the silver-plated because the sterling silver ones were over $300!).

We're doing a table with pictures of our grandparents - only my grandmother can make the trip. All of our grandfathers have passed away ... we'll have a sign with the Eskimo Proverb that says "Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours down and shines through to let us know they are happy." The picture holders are from Pier One:

Here's the table runners (yellow) and the butterfly patterned rectangles are actually dishtowels from Anthropologie that I fell in love with. I made the napkins (easy! but time consuming) and the vases are drinking glasses. I'm going to fill those with flowers the day of the wedding:

I love the way the menus turned out - but be WARNED they take a lot of work! I got the idea from another bride and she tried to warn me! It is craft wood that you stain, my neighbor took pity on me trying to cut them with a hand saw and came over with his jig saw. Then you burn the edges with a wood burner. That's what takes the longest. FI was a super-sport and did a lot of them! The paper was from paper source and has some natural fibers and flecks. I tore the edges with a deckle edge ruler. Finally, after much trauma with adhesives - I used YES paste - I found it was the only thing that really worked well with the wood. Oh - and we won't be doing place cards ...

Also on each table will be a candle trio - a small, medium, and large with a candle and filled with sand at the bottom. Here's the pic my WC sent, but she said they are a little bigger than this:

On the guest book table and the cake table I'm having these arrangements:

Here is the cocktail menu (something old, new, borrowed, blue ...)

And the napkins (ordered from ForYourParty.com Wedding favors, custom wedding napkins, party favors, and more. Make your special occasion unique with personalized favors!: - liked them because you could preview before you ordered)

OK - last one:

We ordered Mexican Wedding cookies from Sweet Dreams - They'll go in these bags and we'll send them to guests before they leave so they'll have a "snack" on the way home:

Last, but not least - the programs. I had covers letterpressed when we ordered the invitations. They covers are 3.5 x 5. I did the accordion inside ala Martha Stewart - . Again with the adhesive problems - I finally liked Zig glue (it's for scrapbooking) AND the handiest tool ever is a bone folder ... it made the creases really sharp and was awesome for spreading out all the air bubbles. Seriously, I think it's may favorite craft tool now!

OK - Now I'm busy checking and re-checking the packing lists. The good news is I think we will be able to take everything in our allotted luggage.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for sharing all of your ideas and support! You girls have been such inspiration and I have loved the last few months of planning! I can't believe it is already here!

(Thanks Maura for the all the proof-reading!!! Thanks Trisha and Carly for the Pashminas! Thanks Angela for sharing all your templates!)

Alyssa has promised to track me down on Wednesday when we win Powerball!!! cheer2.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
