Getting WORRIED!! HELP!!

Ok...so....my wedding isn't until Dec 2008. We put our deposit on our trip in awhile ago. Our wedding date is confirmed. Our air travel is confirmed....but our RESORT isn't confirmed. Is this normal?

Even our TA is worried about this. She says that usually hotel confirms quickly. But she can't get ANYTHING out of the resort saying that our rooms are confirmed. Now....we BOOKED about 2 years ago....i think i started looking near the end of 2006. We let the resort KNOW we were coming way back then. I am getting worried. Why wouldn't the resort confirm

She is always trying to pressure me into getting my guests to book ASAP. Says that if they don't, they may not come. But....its a while away. I know places fill up. But i feel weird harassing people to see if they are coming or not. What if they don't know until closer to the summer time. They can't make it then?? Is this just my TA's way of getting me to get more people? Or is this a legit situation??

And, what is up with the Sandals resort Is it normal to not let people know their rooms aren't booked? What happens if they aren't? What if we can't get in?? We all paid our deposits....what happens then

 

I can't get any answers from my TA, cause she doesn't seem to know...or won't share. Anyone else have this happen to them? Am I over-reacting??

I don't think you are overreacting at all. I would be freakin' out too. Have you tried calling the resort yourself and confirming? Just for peace of mind I would call them myself and see what is going on!

I would suggest doing that. Definitely call and check into it. I booked and Sandals and they were very responsive. The deal was done within the first week. They emailed me a contract for the rooms in an excel spreadsheet format and gave me a booking number.

I dont blame you at all for being upset!! I too would call myself. If you must..go bridezilla on them!! You need answers and that is ridiculous that your guests should have to book now. That doesnt seem right. Take matters into your own hands damn it!! Good luck and please let us know what happens.

Do you have a package deal through your TA or no? I would echo everyone else's advice and call the hotel directly!

i would call myself if you can't get any answers for this long - that seems a little fishy. also - have you tried PMing TA Jennifer - she is a Sandals specialist

I think you are going to have to do some further investigation about this.

 

We are staying at a Sandals owned property and we immediately got emails and confirmation numbers. As well as a actual letter in the mail about a week later.

Call the resort yourself. You cant ask people to come if your place is not booked. Is this going to be an expensive trip for your guest? If so, I think they should book at least 6 months ahead of time but if not, why is she so pushy?
