Ana, I voted for El Dorado simply because I've heard such great things about if on this forum. I know nothing about the other two resorts, although the pics look beautiful. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these...

I chose El Dorado too! I've heard fabulous things about EDR and that is where I chose for my honeymoon! Steve loved the idea of the casitas with the lazy river right outside our room, these rooms are a little higher than what I budgeted, but our airfare ended up being lower than the budget, so I guess its a wash!

Royal Porto Royal! That is where me and my hubby honeymooned! We paid $2500 for 6 nights all inclusive for an Ocean Front room. The food was impecable! Unbelieveable! We were blown away. Even the buffet for dinner was amazing! The hotel was was walking distance to 5th Avenue (bars, restaurants, live music, the ferry to Cozumel) but also beach front. Top shelf alcohol gorgeous grounds, Beach beds, activities! You could eat at all of the restaurants in the sister property across the street. The spa was amazing too!

My husband and I wanted to honeymoon somewhere where we could do things. We didn't want a really quiet sleepy place. So if that is what you are looking for, this place is not for you. It is a big resort, but is is adult only now, so there aren't screaming kids running around or anything. Just a lot of couples from all over the world. It was a great time. Here are some pics! (PS, the first slide (the one that says Honeymooners on the door) is from Dreams in Cabo. That was on the door when we woke up the morning after our wedding. The rest of the pic's are from The Royal Porto Real...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
