Like I said, I've never made it, but I've heard good things about it. I like Glenda's cupcake idea as well. How cute are they!
Ooh I didn't know you could do this. You could also try using those zero calorie cokes and sprite. I have never tasted the coke one but I swear the sprite one taste just like the real thing and it has zero calories!

I've had the diet coke cake and it tastes really good. You can "frost" the cake with fat free cool whip.

Have you tried the sugar free Cool Whip? It's really good. I like it much better than the Fat Free kind (for some reason it tastes like marshmellow to me). I want to try this now. Maybe I'll make it this weekend. Mmm, now I'm thinking about Cool Whip. I can eat that stuff by the spoonful.

~Jill there is a way to make cake less fattening. Instead of oil you use fat free apple sauce. And only use egg whites instead of the whole egg and mix it with the cake mix. If you do it from scratch and need to use sugar, only use brown sugar. You know what I would do? Ask Steve to get you a cupcake instead. This way there is only one thing you can eat and the entire cake won't be staring at you in the face, tempting you to eat the whole thing!

Thanks ladies for all of the ideas!

Well, before I posted here DH asked what kind of cake I wanted and I told him I wanted a chocolate one from the bakery with the sweet frosting, not the crappy whipped frosting. I was very specific.

Well, after I posted here about that I ended up telling him not to get me a cake. We have a b-day party to go to sunday and another one next sunday, so if I decide to eat cake one of those days, I don't want to eat it again on monday, not to mention if he gets me a cake, there's only 3 of us, so there will be leftovers and that means I'll end up eating it all damn week!!

He thinks its a trick and I'm going to be mad when I don't get a cake, lol!

also, I have heard of the cake & dc recipe, but I also had a recipe to use reduced sugar cake mix and a can of pumpkin. I made them last night, as cupcakes and they are SO good!! I think they are about 2 points each and I bought some cool whip for topping.

The top of them is kind of hard, but the inside is super fudgy and moist, they're really good!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
