Re-asking to be a bridesmaid?

Recommended Posts

I started planning a tradional wedding right after I got engaged. I asked 5 girls to be my bridesmaids...my sister, a long time friend, Pete's sister, Pete's SIL, and my cousin. When we decided on a DW, I only wanted 1 bridesmaid, but now I am not so sure. I really want my friend to be a bridesmaid too, but I am nervous that I will hurt Pete's sister and SIL's feelings. My cousin is not coming. I have thought about having all of them, but I don't want my bridal party to get to big. What is the best way to do this?

My sister-in-law didn't include me in her wedding when she married my brother. However, since my sister and her were friends she was in the wedding and also my cousin and my other brother was in the wedding. It was strange for me a bit. So it's best to include them all or at least come up with a special title like a guest of honor, etc. Make sure they are part of your wedding some way.

Great decision...really why should asking them to be in a DW be any different. I know I am a little late on this, but just to step on a soap box...if they are willing to travel and bear the expense of showing up to honor your day, why not have them stand up for you at the DW? They were important enough to stand up for you in your original wedding plans, so the fact you are having a DW shouldn't change that.

I only say that because am not a real traditional person as far as having equal numbers on each side etc. I say if they want to come and be a part of the special day...let them.

It sounds like you did. Good for you, I am sure they will all be proud to be a part of your special day.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
