Flower dilemma...PLEASE help me decide!

Recommended Posts

The one thing that I absolutely can't decide on and that is making me crazy is my flower problem. There are 3 choices. Please tell me which one you think is best. I am leaving this in BDW's hands to decide because I'm going crazy!

(1) Get the flowers from RIU. For $35 each I can get either carnations or daisies (not what I really want) for my 8 bridesmaids and 1 beautiful but ridiculously expensive (about $180) of gerber daisies (what I want) for myself. I could get my bridesmaids better flowers, but I would spend more than $1000 on bouquets alone.

(2) Get the flowers from Kreations Florist. I found this florist online (Jamaican Yellow Pages). They can get me all 9 bouquets of gerber daisies and deliver them to the RIU for less than $600. I am wary of doing this because no one else I know has used them, I'm worried they won't actually arrive at the RIU and I don't like sending money beforehand to a company that I know nothing about.

(3) Use parasols for the bridesmaids and just get the 1 bouquet of gerber daisies that I really love from the RIU for myself.

Seriously, whatever gets the most votes, I will do. Thanks girls (and guys)!

I voted #3! ( and it is what I plan on doing for myself as well)

Unless flowers are a complete must... I think we can all think of many better ways to spend $1000! Get the beautiful ones you want for yourself and some bright/fun parasols for your girls. I actually polled my own BMs with this question... and they all voted for parasols! :)

I also vote for #3...I'm leaning towards using the parasols myself so that influenced my decision but also, I agree with the earlier comment, do you really want to spend 1k on flowers that will be forgotten about in 1/2 hour? And option #2 I would never do esp. since you dont know anyone who has used that company, its too risky. GO parasols!! cheer2.gifcheer2.gifcheer2.gif

So I voted for the last option Lizz.

I think it's important that you get the bouquet you love for yourself.

My sister didn't end up getting any of the flowers she wanted in the end (not DW) and she is still upset about it! They were beautiful in my opinion, but they were not what she wanted.

I was concerned with what the resort was going to be able to provide for us since I didn't like any of their options, but they were absolutely will to work with me.

So in my opinion, get what you really want for you and I think the parasols is a cool different idea for BMs.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
