Dreams Cancun Reception Club Tower or Beach ?

Recommended Posts

We are doing the beach. My personal feeling is, one reason I am having a DW is because we love the water and beach so dancing and having a reception by the water is a dream come true. Some have expressed a concern for weather have led them to the tower or also not wanting to be playing in the sand too.

I am definitely doing it on the Beach. My FI never gets excited about anything "WEDDING" but he says not matter what the cost he wants our wedding to look like this:

I have worried about the rain but I did hear in one of the threads they witnessed a wedding getting rained out on the beach and they relocated the reception to the terrace. Also, you will have to be sure guests and yourself have the right shoes for a beach wedding.

I had mine in the tower lobby and cocktail hour and dancing was on the terrace.

We did not opt for the beach since we paid for our own wedding, there were several extra expenses to having it on the beach we didn't want to pay for...

The lights under the tables and the dance floor we a large expense for us.

Since we were married in February, it was extremely windy, so it was good to have dinner inside.

My friends with babies preferred to stay inside away from the wind as well.

Ooooh Now I'm confussed !! I've got a sensible side of me that says " have the cocktail hr on the garden and the reception meal either in the tower lobby or the terrace " then I have the "party girl / I don't care / I'll do what I want" side to me thats saying " go on !! ..... Its a once in a lifetime experience and thats the whole part of having a destination wedding, theres just too many choices ARRRR ! But like Paula we are paying for the wedding ourselves too and there is a considerable extra cost to having the reception on the beach huh.gif? My problem is I want everything LOL !

We're also going with the Club Terrace for the same reasons that Paula and others are/did-- paying for our own wedding and the wind factor. That said, I haven't seen many (or any?) reviews from girls who have actually gotten married on the beach at DC. Those of you who are will be our guinea pigs! I'm sure it will be amazing either way, that photo is GLORIOUS and I can't wait for beach wedding reviews!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
