My daughter would like a destination wedding in Mexico, but doesn't want her guests to have to spend a fortune. What is the prettiest place for a wedding with good food, nice beach place atmosphere for the ceremony, and doesn't cost a fortune? Any ideas? I have looked into a few but am very confused.

Hi Suzanne! Welcome to the forum!

As far as cost savings, one of the biggest components will be airfare. I see you're in MD - so will most of your guests be coming from that area?

If so, stick with the east coast of Mexico - Cancun is a good start - there are a bunch of very affordable all-inclusives (AIs). And the AIs will also help keep your costs down - or at least known, because people won't be surprised by a $7 bottle of water.

The Barcelo in RM is really great for people on all sorts of budgets...the Caribe & Beach parts of the resort are lower in price than the Colonial & Tropical parts, but if you want something really special there is the Palace part.

The beach is beautiful, there is tons to do and even the weddings are reasonable in price.

Suzanne,

you should contact a Travel Agent, there are 3 TA's on this forum that specialize in destination weddings, Tammy (host), TA Dina and TA Jennifer - i suggest private messaging one of them and beginning to discuss pricing and packages.

Good Luck!

I am doing a wedding in Cabo at the Finisterra, I think we are getting an awesome deal. We got a group discount rate which is $110 a night if you are staying 4 nights or more of $145 a night for three nights or less. Its supposed to be an awesome results. On the beach and walking distance from town.

Check out the Dreams resorts. Dreams Resorts They have some really amazing hotels. I am getting married at the one in Cancun. ... Dreams Resort Cancun then all of your info and see an approx amount that you would spend. Then you need to decide the wedding package there is a free one with dreams that has the basics you need if you stay so many nights. Good luck!! The Travel Agents on here are amazing. I am using Tammy but I have heard of good things about all of them. cheer2.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
