Hi Deb,

I will email you separately so I can attach the sample invoice I have from Zac @ EM Vallarta and price break downs from other planners so you can see how they compare. None of the planners charge per head, I just calculated it on my own after adding up all of the costs.

As far as the Sheraton....

We really like it, but it's not as fancy as some of the other resorts in Nuevo Vallarta. We just like being walking distance from downtown. Also, we book through Expedia so we can stay in a studio with a kitchen in the timeshare building, which is separate from the hotel. We like having the option to cook. I think the prices through Expedia and other travel sites are quite a bit cheaper than what you pay directly through the hotel...it worked out to about $110 a night for the studio I think. Our last trip was $1700 total for 2 roundtrip tickets and 10 nights at the Sheraton. I think it would make a great wedding location. The outdoor space is really nice - 2 pools, palapas, etc. The beach is a little rocky, but fine for swimming.

Thanks for the Los Milagros suggestion! Our favorite restaurant in PV is El Arrayan (we are contacting them about possibly catering for us) - .:El Arrayan:.

Hi Erika,

Thanks for the info on the Sheraton. I'm ok with not super fancy and I like being close to town. My fiancée is Mexican and we would prefer to stay closer to the original town instead of the more americanized areas. I just love the Malecon with all the statues!

Thanks also for the name of the restuarant. I will check it out when I'm in PV in April.

Have a great day!

Deb

She's great!

Edna is using her aswell and Jamie Lynn has met her (and is possibly using her for her RD, not sure). You can also find a review by Christinepg who used her as well.
Hi Deb, I am very happy using them, I know Addriene (adeybaby) used them for her recent wedding at the Mayan and I think Verenicce (pvnovia) is also working with them.....

Hey Deb! I just got back from my wedding in Las Caletas and worked with Nicole from Adventure Weddings PV - she was amazing. The whole experience was extremely unique and beatuiful. All of our guests really enjoyed themselves. Nothing went wrong and everything was well planned. I didn't have any stress! The entire crew from Adventure Weddings PV were great...

We're using Prisar Vallarta...we just met them down in PV last weekend, and I think they're great. We saw some invoices from other, unnamed American-run companies, and the prices of items and services were hugely inflated, probably because they were taking a cut. Because my fiance is Mexican and has a better idea of what things cost down there, we were able to see right away what they were trying to get away with. Priscilla and Hector will show you the actual receipts for things (such as alcohol, the caterer, etc.), so you know they're not jacking prices up.
They also understand Mexican weddings. When we told other companies that we wanted a place that would let us party until the wee hours of the morning (an absolute essential for a Mexican wedding), the American-run companies tried to tell us that ending the party at 11pm was more than sufficient, and that people are usually tired and ready to go home anyway. Priscilla and Hector understood that this was not okay, and they worked with us to find a place where we would have more flexibility.
Anyway, that's my 2-cents about Prisar Vallarta. I also contacted some of the references Priscilla gave me, and it was all dazzling reviews. We also saw 2 weddings they did on Saturday night, and they looked fabulous. Let me know if you have any other questions about them.

Hey Lisa,

Thanks for that info. I was kind of hoping some of what you said about Prisar would be the case. My fiancee is Mexican as well and his sister has actually done event planing in DF but is just a little too far from PV to do this. I emailed Prisar yesterday so hope to hear something soon. I may be emailing with questions.

Take care,

Deb

Hi, I am using Prisar as well. Priscilla has been great. I think they have been getting a lot of referrals via this forum and word of mouth--deservedly so. I think they really try to treat their clients' weddings as if they were handling their own. All of my communication has been via email and phone but I still feel a personal touch from them. I can't wait to meet her in June when I finally get there for my wedding!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
