Lauren, Good call on the question about shipping in advance, I was wondering that myself.

Also, my aunt is doing a power point presentation, so I'm wondering if anyone knows if we can get the projector and screen from them and how much it costs to use it?

You can get a projector and a screen but I think it's pretty pricey. I want to say at least 400 bucks (what a shocker eh?). I didn't ship anything down - I don't think any of the previous brides did either - from what I've been told there is no guarantee that it will make it through customs to the hotel. You are better off to bring it with you and just check an extra bag and pay the baggge fee.

Fanny and Yamille - you guys are getting close!

Julie,

The hotel dj SWANK gave us a quote to use the projector/screen and it was almost $800. He said if we bring a projector ourselves the cost would go down (which it clearly should)...he quoted us $150 for the screen alone. I am thinking we can use a wall or put up a sheet.

Girls - I asked Perla if we could have a sound system/mic for the ceremony so people could hear. She said we would have to talk to our photographer about that...but they don't provide this. What should we do? Go back to Perla? Help!

Thanks,

Meredith

Meredith - what are you using for music? If you're going the iPod route, see if your speaker source has an input - you may be able to find a mic with RCA plugs that you can just add to that.

On the projector - note that there are no walls around the Tequila terrace, only windows - you'll need to have a sheet or something to project onto.

I keep thinking about going back down - we had such a great time. And the fact that it's cold and miserable here doesn't help.

Really, for the ceremony she said that? The sound system, which was used to play cd's I had burned for the ceremony and a microphone to be used during the ceremony were provided for us and we're included in our costs. They didn't even charge anything extra. I did ask about a microphone for the reception and it wasn't available for a reasonable cost, but for the ceremony it was included.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
