I am newly engaged and my FI and I are considering a DW and Azul and Paradisus are on our list. Any information you can provide would be helpful. I've emailed them but have not gotten any information yet. We think we would do the aqua or chill out. Any info on the menu options? Ceremony location pictures? If we have above 20 what the cost is? Photographer recommendations and cost? Has the Ipod option worked well and if so do I need to rent speakers? Welcome dinner or reception costs/locations? So many questions!

I also can't open attachments so feel free to email me at avong1228@yahoo.com

    Thanks ladies!

Hi - I just got married at the Paradisus in November. You can check out my pictures and review using the links below. Hopefully it will help answer many of your questions. We did the chill-out chic setup, but since we had 50 guests we opted to do a la carte which turned out to be cheaper.

Also, since both Azul and Paradisus are on your list, I will say this...one of our guests actually attended a DW at Azul last year and was far more impressed with the Paradisus and our wedding. :)

Welcome, to the forum! Congratulations and good luck with your planning.

      Brooke

Brooke, your review and pictures are great! I still have a ton of questions. Can I email you or just post them here?

Ok, so I have finally figured out my performance part that I wanted. I am going to have a water and drums performance. It's going to be a surprise for everyone (won't even tell my parents) so I hope they like it!

            Hello!

I'm getting married at the Paradisus on January 7th.... YES i know - it's creeping up big time! We're getting a little nervous because of some of the negative reviews on TripAdvisor - however - i've been told to just ignore the site. I'm wondering how everyone else's experience was with the hotel. Are all the negative comments about justified?

Some other questions; how is the DJ from SWANK? Do they play good / fun music? If you don't mind me asking... what did you choose for food? We've choosen the AQUA Package with the Chill Out Chic lounges on the beach.

Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated... we are extremely excited, but anxious at the same time. Our guests are spending all this money to stay at this hotel and we're hoping they are not disappointed - after-all we picked this hotel!

Ok ... I've now read the first 55 pages ... Whew!! Still have a ways to go but super helpful.

Seems like doing the Wish or Fantasy package and adding on is cheaper. I've emailed Perla twice but no response yet. I'm hoping to lock down a date soon!

Also, has anyone just used a home docking station for the Ipod instead of paying for the speaker set up?

I can't open any of the attachments so if anyone has the banquet menu, excel comparisons, etc., please email me at avong1228@yahoo.com

We used our Bose docking station with our ipod and it worked out perfectly. It might depend on the amount of guests you have. We had about 30 and it was perfect for us. Everyone was dancing!

We are thinking we'll have 50 so we will try to save the money and brind a Bose system as well.

What photographers is everyone using? Sounds like Claudia is popular but expensive.

I think with 50 guests the bose would work great. We thought the same thing as far as saving money goes and as long as you plan ahead and have great playlists I think this is a great place to save!

We used Del Sol and they were wonderful. Our pics turned out amazing.

Kimmie- I would totally disregard tripadvisor. We had a fabulous time and had no complaints about the resort. I know a few brides may have run into a snag here or there and not everyone can have a great experience, but I feel like 99% of things on tripadvisor are negative and not balanced out with people's positive reviews. Check out the search function on this site and you can find a few reviews from brides who've had weddings there. I think you'll find they're positive.

Kelly, do you mind sharing what the different packages Del Sol offers and cost? I am going back and forth on bringing a photographer with us or just getting one down there.

Vent ... My FI doesn't understand why we have to pay for a private dinner when we are at an AI. I get his concern but I told him this is just the way it is ... not thing we can do about that. I told him how I have heard from girls on here that they'll reserve tables for the night before to have a welcome dinner and his response was "Well, if they can do that than why can't they do that for the wedding?" Aghh ... its so frustrating trying to explain it to him. It was so much better when he just nodded and pretended to listen!
