Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

So we've booked our Wedding at the Paradisus for the first week of January. I'm just reading some recent reviews at Trip Advisor, people are saying that the service is poor, and the pool is extremely cold...

Just wondering if anyone can provide me with some more information.

Thanks.

Thanks so much for quick reply. I really appreciate it. Thanks for the reassurance. I guess Trip Advisor can be a little deceiving sometimes. The resort looks beautiful.

We have picked the Aqua package with the reception on the tequila terrace and the ceremony on the beach.

Any advice on things we should upgrade/ pay extra for? Also any suggestions on Photographers?

Thanks

Becks your website is amazing! I hope to hear great things in the coming months. I will definitely pass your info on to some of my friends that are get married soon and aren't on the board!

Kimmie congratulations on being a Paradisus Bride!! Don't worry about what trip advisor says. It will drive you mad! There have been so many girls on this board with positive things to say that I would feel very confident in your choice! I can't help you with photographers since some of my friends (who are photogs) will be coming down to shoot for me.

Kimmie, congrats and welcome. I am also looking at booking for January, but towards the end of it. Question for you...were you already able to get prices for that time? I'm finding that the most frustrating, as I've been told the prices won't come out till May or June and I have people driving me nuts asking me.

Also, has anyone else run into less then supportive in-laws when it comes to a destination wedding? Mine haven't been excited about the idea from the start. I try to include my FMIL, but every time I talk to her, I feel like she is trying to find some excuse to get us to get married here. Tonight I brought her an info package on the Paradisus and she looked at some of the prices and said 'You know, you could always get married here and then the two of you can go down there to renew your vows'. I keep hoping she'll give up and realize that I'm not changing my mind and she'll concentrate more on being excited. I think tonight made me realize it's time to give up on that idea. And she wonders why I didn't bring her dress shopping with me?

Welcome and congrats Kimmie! There are so many great photogs in the RM region. Two popular ones are Elizabeth Medina and Del Sol Photography.

Yamille, I remember reading a few post-wedding reviews where Paradisus setup their chair sashes and centerpieces without a problem.

SMB, I hope your FMIL will get more excited once she realizes how FUN a dw can be! Meanwhile, you've got a support group here who are excited for you and love to share ideas!

Happy Monday, everyone!

Hi SMB&CRZ,

Both my mom amd my MIL were definitely hesitant about the whole DW concept- I ended up taking my mom down for a site visit in November before the wedding (Jan) to finalize everything, and so she could see we were not dealing with a totally undeveloped country, etc.- it was the best move I ever made! She came back saying "hola!". That being said, even if she hadn't been able to come down prior, i knew she and everyone else would love it once they got there, and some would stay skeptical until they arrived- that's just how some people are (afarid of change, etc), and we can't change them- so don't let them get to you (but also don't expect them to be supportive until they're at the resort, that way you won't be disappointed wink.gif ). Hope this helps!

Ok so everything was great at Paradisus they did not make me pay for the swank invoice all they charged me was the 300.00... They treated me like a queen and everything was beautiful...I loved it. The only advice i have is make sure you double check everything and stick to your e-mails because unfortunatelly they don't treat everyone the same. Both Daniela and Perla where great and my wedding was beautiful. Can't wait for the pics.....The resort is very beautiful....very happy we picked that hotel.
Welcome back!!!!
I hope your wedding was everything and more!!

I am curious to know how your flowers worked out b/c I think you went with Julietta righthuh.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
