Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

You might also ask her to price it with the Wish and with the other packages. There's no "change fee" (that's not per person, is ithuh.gif) She was frankly very good with us - of course we were on site when we were doing it, so that probably helped. But she did suggest we go with the Wish and add on, rather than the other way around.

Ok so I just got three quotes from "DJ SWANK" - one for four hours, one for five and one for six hours.

You will see that the four hour package cost is $1663. Perla's package quoted me $1250. When I asked him about the difference, his response was that the $1250 was last year's rate... at which point I told him that we booked and paid our deposit last year and those were the prices we were given.

I will keep you updated!

The bottom line is - They have to honor what they initially gave us - This price stuff is really annoying me.

Becks you just scared me about this $3/chair business - Where did you see that?

We're doing the Fantasy package which includes the coctail hour - We're doing passed cold hors d'oures from that menu, replacing the cheese and crackers with shrimp and pineapple.

For dinner we're doing a customized buffet menu for $30/person.

I just sent Elisa a nice nasty e-mail -about not getting responses from her. My wedding is 7 weeks away and I'm starting to feel the PRESSURE! If I have to call Mexico today so help me!

I would definately fight for the quote they originally gave you and make them honor the prices for the DJ. Just as a note I paid $1250 and with the taxes the total comes out to around ~$1400 not sure if that is more or less than the other DJ some of you were looking into.

The fantasy only includes up to 20 ppl and I do remember someone mentioned paying additional for setup fees but I dont know the exact cost maybe that is the $3 pp.

LeShay was it an additional cost for you to substitute the shrimp for the cheese and crackers? Some of the appetizers do not sound appetizing to me so I was considering but was curious as what cost.

I got the $3 per chair from Perla during our site visit. Not much help, am I?

I'm still waiting to hear from Mannia to see what they could work out on the DJ insurance thing. If not, I'm going to call SWANK and tell them to cut me a deal or I'm using my iPod. No skin off my nose at that point. I'm just not willing to pay $1700 for a DJ that I've heard is mediocre.

Ok I am still waiting for some information from Perla but here is what she sent me:

1) extra chairs are $2 - chair bows are not included and those are $4 each

2) In terms of the appetizers - basically you can change what you want but there is a cost - Perla quoted me (in writing) $3 for each additional appetizer you want to add on to the Fantasy Package - we changed it completely and it is $15 per person extra for what we want.

3) Another thing is that none of the packages include centrepieces - still waiting on costs from her on these!

The funniest thing about the DJ is when I made a stink to Perla about the rates - she said we would only have to pay the 2007 rate and she was going to talk to Victor at SWANK to tell him that we were only paying the 2007 rate. WTF? Basically if I didn't make a stink then he would have charged me an extra $500 bucks!

The other thing she quoted me was if you want the aqua table linens it's $30 bucks per table for that!

On the centerpieces - if you look at my review, there are photos of some very pretty shell-shaped vases that the PRC has on their own - a couple of flowers in each (bigger, like lilies) is enough, and should keep costs down.

Carlos still hasn't gotten back to me about what to do on the insurance requirements.

$30 for the table linens? What does that cover? The overlay only? Or the overlay and the chair bows and whatever else. If its just the overlay, you're probably better off going to a fabric store and getting some nice tulle or cheap organza and carrying it down on your own. Just get the measurments you need. (A store that sells upholstry fabric will have this in wide widths that will work as a tablecloth).

Becks I see that you entered Nathaniel's photocontest! Would love to see a fellow Paradisus bride win that awesome package!

Perla sent me the following four centrepeices (including the shell one) - She did say specifically that nothing was included - wtf.gif

Yeah $30 bucks for the overlay - What a joke - I almost laughed out loud when she said that!

Let me know what you get back from the DJ - Not getting a good vibe about Victor but I am afraid if I go with Manna that whoever is there from Victor's team is going to give him a really hard time..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
